An Update!

Hello my gemlins 💕

I hope you all survived Christmas in one peace!! Did you spend the days with family? Friends? Chilling alone or with your partner (would be my favourite option tbh)? Did you have to work? And most importantly... what did you eat??

I have returned from my family and I'm back to working on all my stuff! :') I didn't get to do much over the holidays, I only sketched a few pages and ran into some problems with that as I realised I have once again hit a wall with my art and every brush stroke feels alien and wrong :( Which I can clearly see in my art. For the next update it's super important to me that it'll look as aesthetically pleasing as possible, so I might have to postpone it for a few days until I manage to grow back into my style and workflow. Usually these phases don't last very long anymore, I'm using the time to try different approaches, change tools, limit my colour palette, etc in order to... loosen up a little?

From experience these struggles usually mean that I'm in this weird phase of my skills catching up to my eyes, so right now I'm seeing everything as much shittier than it is, which in turn makes me want to fix everything too much, which might lead to drawings actually looking like crap LOL The image above was one of the test doodles I did over the last couple of days. I have to honestly say I don't like it at all, but it's at least something, and I can see which parts I don't like and try to improve from there.

That said, I won't be able to finish the next update in December as I'd wanted to, there's just not enough time ; _;)
I will also have to cancel the stream this month, December has been A Lot, with being sick for like 2 weeks and the holidays and also my birthday is coming up on the 30th and I think I'll selfishly allow myself to take the day off as much as I can, too 💦💦💦

I hope you can understand that ; _;)) But I'll be aiming to catch up on the comic pages at the beginning of 2019!

Also, I will definitely finish the tutorial this month, even if I have to spend New Year's Eve working on that too, but I hope I can finish it today XD I just need a little sleep first, it's 2:30am, I'm picking up my dog around noon and I have a ton of errands to run, I feel tired just thinking about it OTL
