My Old Bicycle has an Awful Engine from eBay

In this video, I completely ignore a Ferrari
These used to be popular in the 1940-1980s. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V%C3%A9loSoleX for a description and https://alatis.eu/en/actualites/solex-iconic-brand/ for a picture of a typical unit; I have only ever seen black ones.
There is no chain. The drive is that the motor directly drives a rubber wheel ("galet") that rubs on top of the front wheel tire.
The engine is 49 cc max because above that one needs a driving permit in France.
Oh and if you think it's going to be terrible because all the motor weight is at the top of the front wheel in front of you... you got that right. But honestly, somewhat less terrible than your amusing little contraption here. When they work (all these things are vintage now; OTOH all the mechanical issues are well known).

The more I see this, the more I think you need to get yourself a French Solex (a moped with a 49cc engine on top of the front wheel, using a friction drive directly on the tire, very much like your improvised motorized chair).

The what where?

This whole bike project reminds me of bikes that old people here in The Netherlands used to ride around on before electric bikes became popular.
Try googling the "SpartaMet" :)

I'm pleased that this looks just as sketchy as the ones you see in museums from the early 20th century. Maybe more sketchy. What was that red MR2 doing there anyway?

There's a ton of upgrade parts for the Trabant in Germany. How about slapping some of those on the ole Trabbi?

Didn't see a thing

Did anyone else notice the Ferrari in the background at the end?

Agreed. This would be super handy.

I've kinda wanted to make one of these ever since I saw Project Farm build one. The only issue is that I live in the burbs and not the country, so not as practical for me.

On an unrelated note, would you consider putting the URL of the unlisted video in the Patreon description? :) For those of us on mobile, it requires 3/4 clicks and fiddly "open in app" to get through Patreon and to YouTube, whereas a direct URL will open the YouTube app directly. Big Clive does this, I assume for the same reason.

Nope. You didn't see that. Never happened. Nope

Other than the Ferrari, I think I spot something Italian in your driveway around 22 seconds in the video. A certain Italian car that wasn't shy about having four doors, perhaps?

What about the red car (Ferrari?) at the end?

Completely ignoring the obvious, have you been tinkering with you smart? I'm only asking because it seems to have gone camera shy after the first shot and hidden it's face by turning around....
