The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot (FULL REACTION)

Cool thing about this is they actually did this entire thing for free. All the cast and crew just pulled in favors because they wanted to. They just love Doctor Who so much. Even Ian McKellen and Peter Jackson.

I love how there are so many in-jokes for people who notice them but even if you don't, it's still a very fun (perhaps even moving) little thing, really good comedy. The only thing I'll be boring enough to explain is the Tom Baker 'cameo' - back in the original Five Doctors (20th-anniversary special) Baker didn't want to come back, so they used a scene from an unaired episode where he gets scooped up by that weird triangle thing to explain his absence as being 'trapped in the time vortex' (and thus it still counted as 'Five Doctors' appearing). So in this, they re-used the same scene pretty much to explain his absence again lol. Though of course, 'in-universe', the reason for his absence, I suppose, is that, as we know, he *was* actually in the 50th special - and that's also presumably why Paul McGann dips out, cause he gets a call to go and do Night of the Doctor. Meta lol. Oh also, though this you probably knew, but Peter Davison's daughter Georgia Moffett - the pregnant, leek + melted-ice-cream-eating woman in this - is David Tennant's wife, who played Jenny in the series 4 episode 'The Doctor's Daughter'. (And she's no relation to Steven Moffat - well, so far as we know...) The Doctor's Daughter, twice over! (And if I remember correctly, Georgia Moffett went to school with Colin Baker's daughter - another Doctor's daughter. Couldn't make it up...) (And before that - as an aside - David dated Sophia Myles, who played Reinette in 'The Girl in the Fireplace.' It's all strangely interconnected!) I do also love the power of Doctor Who to be able to bring in some of the most recognised faces in the world - Peter Jackson, Ian McKellen, Olivia Colman - for a slightly experimental behind-the-scenes feature, not even the main event! (Colman did of course appear in 'The Eleventh Hour' - but that was before she got really big, which she was at this point, albeit not as big as she's become.)

DSJ.

CELERYYYYYYYYYYY !!! 🀣 so glad you enjoyed this!! it’s so cute how much so many of the Doctor’s previous actors love to come back for things like this :’)
