A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Florence Deerly is verbally a very kind and affectionate person.

She isn't a physically affectionate person, though. The only people she has ever loved enough to so much as hug was her firstborn son, Xavier, and Annika.

The two men she took as her partners were only there to produce Deerly hiers.

The common assumption is that Deerly murdered both of her partners.

She does have a soft spot for the children she teaches, though, and seems very protective and loving when it comes to Bug.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Florence doesn't have any idea what being a friend means. She was ignored by her parents, her brother died when she was young, and others her age thought she was odd.

She went from that to being the caretaker of Deerbourne and all the people within. She's never had a chance to make friends.

The concept of friendship makes sense to her, but she doesn't think she's missing out.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

As mentioned, she isn't much of a physically affectionate person. The closest she's come is with Xavier when he was younger.

Now that Bug is around, Florence happily holds and cuddles the girl.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

She is a very classically domestic woman - neat as a pin, good at home cooking, and motherly with children. That being said, she doesn't participate in that lifestyle around Deerbourne. There are others who have those jobs (except schooling the children - Deerly is the only official teacher for the kids under 16).

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quickly would they want to get married?)

She has no interest in romantic commitment. Or romance in general. The concept makes sense, but it's not her idea of a good time.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they)

Physically, she is extremely gentle. If she ever touches you, it's feather-soft. Verbally, she is usually gentle. She is very good at being passive aggressive, though, and can go mask-off if needed.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

The only people she will hug nowadays are Annika (quick and gentle), the children she teaches (also quick and gentle), and Bug (warmer, more encompassing).

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

She's only ever said this to Xavier. It's possible that could change... but not for you.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

She was jealous of her brother prior to his death.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they want to be kissed?)

She does not kiss - ever, with anyone. It seems unsanitary and unnecessary.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Florence is fantastic with children. Attentive, gentle, and focused on their mental health as closely as their physical health

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

She spends her morning alone. She walks the campus' perimeter for the hour after dawn, notating any issues she finds. She sometimes pauses at one specific spot and stares into the woods as if looking for something.

Then it's preparing for her morning class, breakfast with the others, and then class.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

After dinner with the others, Florence prepares for the following day's activities. She'll retire to her office for a while, have a few drinks, and then head out to the perimeter around midnight. She walks the boundary again, but she is listening, not looking, for problems.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Florence does not talk about her past. She rarely talks about anything past pleasantries or what is necessary to keep Deerbourne safe and healthy

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Despite her calm demeanor, Florence has a temper. If she doesn't get her way, or if someone presses her to do something she doesn't want to do, she can explode. This often leads to her storming off.

Q = Quizzes (How much do they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or forget everything?)

She remembers a lot - she keeps a journal to make sure of it

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

When you and Bug crossed the boundary and entered Deerbourne proper.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Florence is very protective over those who are important to her. ...You should probably make sure you are important to her in some way...

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

Quite a bit. She makes sure to work with the kitchen staff to celebrate any big events - birthdays, engagements, weddings, anniversaries, etc.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Her temper

Her penchant for holding grudges

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

Not very. She's an attractive older woman, but it comes naturally. The most effort she puts in is keeping her hair well maintained.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

Without you? Not really. Not unless you make yourself indispensable.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

Florence's favorite music is old-school country. She knows every line to every Roger Miller song.

Deerly hates large beds. She sleeps in a twin-sized bed because it makes her feel safer - even then, she curls in one herself, making herself small. She's done this since childhood.
