I don’t think it’s as much a dirt bag left thing, but a true progressive that is thinking beyond the initial point of tone policing. Some people can’t hear the irony and listen to enough Stav (and Eldis) to know how progressive their beliefs are and can hear it as satire. You can’t just not say things because of who might be dumb or evil enough to take it unironically. But, like Stav said, there’s always room for growth so if someone made a legitimate argument for something specific, it’s worth reconsidering.
