I feel it would have been more impactful.. more 'real' if Jade told Caliope that if she dies Dirk will be the one that decides as she won't be able to influence the timeline without a living body to do it. From what we have seen of Dirk so far he would have instantly come up with some ass backwards logic to make her suicide 'Just' or 'Heroic' just like Jade said it may be considered. Of course I understand that it would be horrific to say a suicide could ever be 'Just' or 'Heroic' from the point of view from the audience.
