Another thing I want to bring up. Some of the creatures have mentioned (monroe previously mentioned) when the creatures are kids their parents tell them stories about Grimm's. Grimms are almost like the boogey man to creatures. Typically grimms hunt down creatures. This isnt a spoiler because it has been mentioned so the fact that nick is a grimm and he has been asking monroe for help is a huge deal because grimms are not known to be friends with a creature typically they are meant to kill creatures

The toads he eats are very rare and help him to give off strong pheromones that can lure people in and what not. Also the guy that got his ear cut off is exactly what you said like a "grim reaper" so someone who kills or tries to kill grimms
