I was just really not impressed with how Tiffany was pushed to the back during Holiday. Like sure, we all know in a usual comeback, TTS usually have the most lines. If it was purely a thing of evening out the distribution so that some of the other girls got more lines, that'd be one thing. But it just felt like the company was punishing her for the flag scandal and wanted to take attention away from her so that maybe she might be forgotten about and people wouldn't bring that up? SM are snakes but it felt like a very visual representation to me of how they don't really stand up for their artists.

I think you're misremembering the backstory behind Dancing Queen a little bit. It wasn't a cover of Duffy's Mercy. Both of their companies purchased the song at the same time and Duffy released her first. SM decided not to release the SNSD version of the song to avoid controversy - I mean, don't forget, we're right off the Black Ocean, they had nearly disbanded after that. This next song was really gonna make or break the group and if they decided to release the song anyhow, guaranteed they'd have been accused of stealing. Actually! I wonder if Dancing Queen AND Gee weren't both supposed to have come out? I mean I know we assume Gee REPLACED Dancing Queen but they would've have scrapped DQ release AFTER they'd edited it, right? They wouldn't have kept that extra raw footage for years just in case. So maybe DQ was the follow up and is the answer to 'so what did mannequin Soshi do next? Where did they go?' :D
