Sleepwalker

Greetings adventurers!

There are certain things that terrify me more than others and creatures that haunt the sleeping world are near the top of my list. You’re nearly defenseless from them in your most vulnerable hours, yet without the comfort of sleep, what do you have to rely upon? It seems that someone bested one of these spirits of the night and managed to retain its mask which has now ended up in my shop. I’m not so sure I wanted something like this here, but when they explained its powers, well I became very intrigued.

Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

I’ve been wanting to do something with a dream walking creature for awhile now. I think that it’s an underutilized mechanic and giving it to players after downing something powerful with that exact ability felt like a really fun way to increase the use of it. Certainly we have spells like sleep and others that manipulate consciousness, but I wanted something that would manipulate dreams themselves.
In the 5E version, preventing a long rest is a really punishing mechanic. That’s actually why I needed to make it a bit higher rarity, because when you prevent a long rest, exhaustion starts to kick in and over time, that can actually kill a creature without ever needing to fight it. That very mechanic is actually the reason this had to be at least very rare.
In the PF2E version, rest is a bit different, but fatigue is still a problem. It’s not quite as deadly, but continuing to be fatigued is something that can spell your downfall in combat as it has an overwhelming effect on just about every aspect of your character. I wanted it to play a bit differently though to something like the nightmare spell, so the fear upon seeing the mask next seemed like a fun little addition.

Later today we’ll be releasing our creature for the month of October in the form of the Dreamstalker. I’m excited to get that into your hands and see what kind of torment you may place upon your players. Hopefully this reward does well for them as well!
