Heat Cover Art
Added 2022-02-17 02:43:37 +0000 UTCFor those that don't know already, I am publishing the next book in my Hunger series, "Heat" on March 1st! I'm so excited! :D This has been six years of work, writing here and there as I could, and working on the cover art in spare moments.
This cover was created in Procreate and assembled in Photoshop. I decided to work on this cover art digitally since I couldn't really afford the time to actually work on a full-size painting like I did with the cover for Hunger.
I am SO glad I went this route. It allowed me to work on the piece in small chunks, and it made fixing errors like ten-thousand times easier. My roommate, business partner, and soul-sister Sandra was crucial in helping me with some problems, especially in Kain's face. He just looked all wrong before her input, so major hats off to her for her invaluable art direction!
I learned so much about how to use Procreate doing this cover, and I am happy to be able to really dip my toes into digital art in a better and much more satisfying way. Procreate is amazing! I would have to say that traditional media is still my favorite way to work, but this tool certainly does make certain aspects of it easier.

I seem to recall Kain's were form is, and all the wolves on the cover here are. I had my fingers crossed for a lighter and more reddish colored wolf for Autumn!
