Patreon Fee Changes
Added 2017-12-07 21:51:47 +0000 UTCSo some of you may have already gotten the news that Patreon is changing their fee structure. This it the e-mail sent out to us creators yesterday:
No one is happy about this, and I think it's total BS. We were all fine with those fees coming out of what you already pay, and I'm sorry, but no one I know was "polled" or otherwise consulted about this.
It's a shitty move on Patreon's part, and I absolutely understand if you need to change your pledge, hold your pledge, or cancel your pledge altogether.
Just know that I am NOT on board with it, and neither are most other creators I know of. I'm hoping there will be enough of an outcry/backlash that they won't actually go through with this idiotic plan.

It's insane and I'm really sorry to hear this is happening to you and everyone else. The more I read both what you and other are writing and saying and what their emails are saying, it's making we wonder if this doesn't have something to do with the repeal of net neutrality. I mean, this policy change just happened, seemingly out of the blue, and without any preamble. That's weird, especially for this site. Still doesn't change that how they are going about is wrong and crazy and will hurt creators. I've already read reports of people "jumping ship." Good luck and hang in there. You rock, your art rocks, and things will get better. All the good vibes.

2017-12-07 23:39:05 +0000 UTCLooks like creators are going to have to find alternate ways for people to pledge. One solution is to allow an option for patrons to send money directly to your paypal. Or you can set up a gumroad subscription option.
