Adding proper captions!
Added 2021-08-17 16:10:11 +0000 UTCI'm not sure if anyone here turns on captions for my videos, but you might have noticed that only my earlier videos had captions. The rest can try to autogenerate them, and it does a surprisingly-decent job most of the time, but of course it struggles with any Dark Souls-specific terms. "Crag spider" sometimes turns into "crack spider", New Londo becomes "New London", and so on.
Ah, yes, the infamous "blow head sorcerers" everyone keeps talking about.
It can be a lot of work to add them back in manually so I'm not sure it's something I plan on doing for every new video, but I did always have the idea of going back and adding them eventually. So I'm spending today working on adding some back in; I just completed captions for the Humanity Drop episode, and I'm working on Lordran's Layout now.
The neat part about having proper captions is that it also enables the auto-translate feature. Now that's sure to create all sorts of absurd interpretations that are guaranteed to make "crack spider" look rock-solid in comparison, but I do like that it opens the doors for that option. I'm also considering taking a look at a handful of my most popular videos and adding proper subtitles in Spanish.
