V3.3 Side Content | Patreon Poll #71

Hey Patrons, in this poll I’ve got a few options for potential side-content in v3.3! It’s all item additions this time, I’ve got a few promising ideas and you can choose what I prioritize! Based on the results of this poll, the top 1 or 2 choices will be implemented into v3.3!

Poll Options

This is a multi-choice poll, please vote for all the options that you like, not just for your one favourite! Multiple choice polls have been finicky on Patreon for a while, so you may need to refresh the page/app to verify your choices or vote for multiple options.

All patrons are encouraged to share their opinion by commenting and voting, but only the votes from Golden+ Supporters are counted when determining a poll winner. Votes from Shattered Supporters are worth double!

Rapidfire Wand: Tentatively named the “Wand of Magic Darts’, this wand will shoot a simple quick bolt of green light that deals 1-4 damage at base, plus 1-2 damage per level. That might sound pretty weak, but each shot only consumes half a turn and charge! Aside from being a pretty simple and consistent wand, there are some fun turn interaction possibilities for experienced players, and synergy with various on-zap effects, as each shot counts as a full wand zap.

Spyglass Trinket: Players absolutely love how the mimic tooth keeps them on their toes, so I’ve been thinking of potential additional trinkets that lean into that sort of ‘hidden thing’ mechanic. The spyglass would would be a less spicy alternative with similar mechanics, populating floors with bits of extra loot that are very hard to see, just like an ebony mimic. You still get to keep on the lookout, but without the risk of getting chomped.

Artifact Levelling Trinket: Another trinket option with an undecided theme. This trinket would give the player bonuses (perhaps +ring power and +artifact charge speed) based on the number of levels they’ve given to artifacts that they aren’t currently wearing. This creates a little incentive to level up all artifacts as much as possible, even if you don’t plan to use them directly. There will likely be a cap on levels that upgrading the trinket will raise. You won’t need to keep the unused but levelled artifacts in your inventory.

New Thrown Weapons: Of course with v3.2 just having come out there’s room for more thrown weapons. I’m not sure exactly how many I could add, something in the range of 2-4. There would likely be a mix of some copies of existing mechanics at different tiers (e.g. a T2 boomerang, a T5 kunai), and new mechanics/themes. Some possible new themes might be: two-headed throwing axes, chakrams, nets, and long darts (i.e. atlatl darts).

Skeleton Key Artifact: I’ve got a pretty decent idea for a new artifact that’s all about interacting with doors and keys. The artifact would likely be levelled by normally opening doors and containers, and would them allow you to use the key’s magic to manipulate the environment. The key could be used to lock doors previously left unlocked, or open doors/containers without a key (yes, even crystal keys!). It could also be used to conjour a temporary ‘locked door’ on open space to block enemies when a door isn’t available (somewhat like a +1 wall of light from Paladin).

Comments

You know, that key thing is interesting. Lately, I've been thinking about wanting to lock doors, especially the ones to the Alchemy Room and the Garden. It's kinda like I'm creating a safe zone for myself, eh?
