V3.2.0 Any Minute! | Patreon Weekly #322
Added 2025-08-04 14:00:11 +0000 UTCHey Patrons, in this weekly I’m going to go over my plans shortly following v3.2’s release
Release & Patch Plans
This weekly is set to go live at 10am, and if everything goes according to plan then v3.2.0 will be going live everywhere shortly after at noon! I’ve got releases all prepped on every platforms, and it’ll just be a matter of the usual orchestration of blog post, release, steam post, steam sale, etc.
One thing I mention in the final changelog is that I plan to do more patches than v3.2 than normal. Firstly that’ll be for the usual balance fixes, but afterwards there are going to be technical changes too:
I expect all the item and subclass changes in v3.2 to definitely require some balance tweaking after the fact. V3.3 is probably going to take a while to complete, which makes followup patches to v3.2’s balance all the more important, so that imbalanced things don’t stay that way for months and months.
After that, there are some behind-the-scenes technical improvements I want to make, mostly updating various internal game libraries and dropping support for Android 4.0-4.4, as mentioned previously. I’m doing these in patches both to comply with an upcoming Google requirement and also to ensure they can be tested on their own without a bunch of other game content also getting in the way.
One other big technical improvement after the library updates will be some internal code changes to remove features that were previously designed for older devices (power saver mode, mostly), and updating the game to target the latest versions of Android. In particular this should hopefully make Shattered play a bit nicer with notched Android devices. I also might try to sneak in some improvements to controller support while doing this, but no promises there.
Of course, while all that’s ongoing I am going to try and do some proper concepting, and maybe early implementation, on the new Ambitious Imp quest! I’ve had some pretty decent ideating time on this recently, and will probably be able to start sharding some of that with the Patreon soon.
