Power of Many | Patreon Weekly #297
Added 2025-02-10 18:05:48 +0000 UTCHey Patrons, in this weekly I’m going to share some details on the Cleric’s third and final armor ability.
There’s also a new Patreon Poll running this week! I’m getting your opinions on the swapper button used to let mobile players access all 6 quickslots.
Power of Many Details
Power of Many is going to be the Cleric’s third armor ability, focused around empowering an existing ally, or creating a new temporary one.
The Power of Many buff would last for a set duration (perhaps 100 turns), grant the Cleric access to the ally’s vision, and grant the ally bonus stats. It can be cast on any allied character, or on an empty space to create a new ally just for the purposes of this ability.
Just as with the other abilities, I expect this to have three spell talents:
One spell will be a fairly straightforward offensive option. A bolt would be shot from the ally’s position, teleporting them into attack range against the target and probably granting a damage buff. While there would be some damage effect, this spell’s primary utility would be granting you an easy way to direct the aggro of an ally character toward a specific target, even if they’re far away.
Another will be a more defensive choice. The Cleric already has gobs of ways to heal or shield allies, so this will probably be something more exotic. I’m considering something like granting guaranteed damage mitigation for a certain number of hits, or giving this spell an adapted version of the Dwarf King’s life link ability.
Lastly, there’ll be a utility choice. I’m currently considering an option that lets you temporarily grab and store an ally in stasis whenever you want and then send them back out later (yes, a bit like a pokeball). This would be especially helpful for allies that would otherwise wander away when out of combat, and would also let you prolong the duration of various buffs on the ally, probably including Power of Many itself.
I’ll be releasing another bugfix patch in a couple hours to try and fix remaining issues with Trinity, and after that will hopefully be getting power of many implemented this week.
Comments
Not specifically I'm afraid, although 'power of many' is a name that's probably been used on a bunch of fantasy works..
