In this weekly I’ll be sharing some details on some of v1.3’s UI improvements, and on the upcoming Patreon alpha!

UI Improvements

The last major functionality I need to work on for v1.3 are some improvements to the interface for desktop and mobile users. I’m planning on starting work on desktop improvements this week, but last week I spent some time on the improvements that mobile users will see.

Firstly, the settings menu has been re-arranged a bit to make better use of space, and to move input settings into their own tab. This input tab will only show up for users who have an input device connected, and so won’t appear for regular phone users.

Because of the improved layout, there is some additional space to add settings for button movement sensitivity and controller sensitivity. I’ve also added another toolbar option that most mobile users should really like: Quickslot Swapper.

This new setting is for portrait phone users who currently don’t have the display space to show all 6 quickslots. With this option enabled those users will now see 3 quickslots and a swapper button instead. The swapper can be used to switch slots 1-3 out for slots 4-6, effectively giving everyone access to 6 slots regardless of screen space.

The swapper even shows tiny versions of the items in other slots, so you can still see all quickslotted items at a glance!

Gearing up for the Alpha

We’re now at a point where v1.3. is almost content complete! I want to finish up implementing the changes to the ascension route, but after that I think the game will be ready for a Patreon alpha release!

I intend to distribute this alpha on Google Play, the App Store, Steam, and directly here on Patreon. Golden+ Patreons can expect more info on this in a private post later this week.
