What’s Next? | Patreon Weekly #114

v0.9.4 is finally in beta! We are now full steam ahead for a full release (including iOS!) early next week.
There’s also a new Patreon Poll! Poll #20 gives a second chance to some poll choices that didn’t quite make it previously.
For the rest of this weekly, I’m going to share what I’m planning on working on immediately after v0.9.4.
Shattered Work
Firstly, obviously, there’s going to be another Shattered update. I’m calling it v0.9.5 for now, but there’s a chance I might end up naming it v0.10.0 instead. As mentioned before, this update is going to focus heavily on alchemy, with the aim of finally getting the system into an unambiguously good place.
I’m going to take my time with getting started on v0.9.5 though. I think it’s going to be important to monitor v0.9.4 and release any needed patches, especially with the release on iOS and tutorialization changes. Taking a little longer will also let me properly concept out the changes and make sure I’m getting alchemy right this time.
Patreon Work
I’ve been focusing pretty heavily on Shattered itself for the last few months due to the iOS release, and getting v0.9.4 out is a great opportunity to shift gears a bit. The Patreon needs some sprucing up, and I badly need to start working towards those loyalty rewards!
In the next week or two I plan to do a proper refresh of the Patreon and rewards. There are no changes planned for weeklies and polls, but I’m considering changes to the livestreams and minor structural adjustments to the discord. I also want to formalize “Shattered Secrets”, which is a mini-blog reward for $10 patrons that I’ve been sort of sporadically doing once a month for a little while.
As for loyalty rewards, I’m going to try and finally get moving on them soon. It’s taken far too long for me to start working towards getting those pins manufactured, we’ve even got a few patrons that have hit the two year mark! I’m going to start mentioning them every weekly until they’re done.
Real-Life Work
Also, as a small aside, some exciting things are happening for me in real like as well: I’m moving! This is part of the reason why v0.9.4 ended up taking an extra week, as there’s lots of planning and paperwork to do. I think that the move will be good on the whole though, as I’ll have substantially more personal office space than in my current place, and fewer roommates to distract me. Things aren’t quite locked in yet though, my roommate and I haven’t signed the lease form yet, just the “committing to signing the lease form” form. As I said, lots of paperwork.
