More New Music! | Patreon Weekly #90

Hey Patrons!

Firstly, the next Patreon Livestream will be on Saturday the 27th, at 8pm EDT! For this stream I’m planning to talk a bit about how I feel the talent system is shaping up, in addition to the usual Q&A. If you have any questions you’d like answered, please write them in a comment here, or on the Patreon Discord. Golden+ Patrons will be able to watch the stream live, and all patrons can access it after the next weekly.

For the rest of this weekly, I have some progress to share with you on new music for Shattered!

WIP Music for the Prison, Caves, and City

You didn’t think we were just going to remaster the existing tracks, did you? We’ve been busy since I first showed off new music for Shattered back in Weekly #83, and I’ve now got some tracks to show you for the Prison, Caves, and City! You can listen to them all in one big music stream attached to this weekly. The prison runs from 0:00-1:50, caves from 1:57 to 4:00, and city from 4:05 to 6:03. The file is also attached to this weekly if you’d prefer to download it directly.

It’s important to note that, just as before, these tracks are still a work in progress! While none of them are quite finished yet, they should give you a very good idea of the direction we’re going in for each region. Of these three, the city track is currently the least polished.

Your feedback is extremely valuable here! The composer and I want to hear what you think so we can adjust as needed before these tracks get to a wider audience. Once you’ve given these tracks some listening time, please let us know what you think! You can comment below, message me, or talk about it on the Patreon Discord.

Great stuff! Thanks or sharing :) In my humble opinion - the prison music music evokes sirens and doors slamming shut to me. Sounds slightly more gothic than I imagine the prison to be, but still great. The caves too have great ambiance. The bell-like echo's and, er, bells are a nice fit, of course, for caves. I feel like (the intro, especially) of the caves music sounds like it would be equally fitting - if not even more-so - to the demon halls. The city section, feels a bit lost at the beginning, but it shapes up pretty well. I get a sort of "technical" feel from it. I love how the first and last songs have both a full-bodied sound to them as well as a pixel-art appeal. The caves seemed to lack this for me, but I actually really love the feel of that one - makes me think a bit of Super Metriod (big compliment - I LOVED the atmosphere of that game, and the music added a lot to it). Great work! Feels like I'll have to keep the headphones handy for when I play sometime soon.
