Plans For v0.9.2 | Patreon Weekly #80
Added 2020-12-14 16:00:06 +0000 UTCHey Patrons!
Firstly, the second Q&A livestream will happen this Sunday December 20th at 8pm EDT. I’ve had to push the stream back slightly this month due to a scheduling conflict. Due to this the next Patreon Weekly will also be slightly pushed back to Tuesday December the 22nd.
Just like with the last stream, I will be answering questions submitted both in advance and in chat for about an hour and a half. If you’d like to ask a question, feel free to do so either in a comment here or in the dedicated channel in the Patreon Discord. Gold+ Patrons will see a post with a link to the stream shortly before it goes live, and all patrons will be able to view the VOD next weekly.
Currently I’m hard at work on v0.9.1a, which will address any bugs and major balance issues that crop up from v0.9.1. Even if I’m not working on it directly just yet though, I have already starting laying out plans for v0.9.2:
Tier Three Talents
The highlight of v0.9.2 will, of course, be the third tier of the talent system! Now that the system is starting to really get fleshed out, I’m planning to put a larger emphasis on it in terms of the total content in this update. This means that, compared to v0.9.1, there should be a bit more effort paid to the new talents, and hopefully the update will release a bit quicker too.
As a reminder, tier three will span levels 13-20, with 8 total points to spend. Unlike the previous two tiers, tier three will be influenced by more than your class choice. Tier three will unlock after the player selects a subclass, and I am currently planning for it to contain three base class talents and three subclass talents. Some of these subclass talents will reposition innate subclass powers, and some will be new flexibility options that allow greater customization.
Subclass Adjustments
Naturally, this update is also great time to look at the subclasses themselves.
As promised way back in Content Poll #7, the Gladiator will be getting the bulk of attention for v0.9.2. As mention in that content poll, I want the Gladiator to be less rigid, and less dependant on his weaker combo finishers. Ideally I’d like building to a high combo for a powerful move something that happens significantly more often. How this works specifically though, and how it ties into the talent system, is something I’ll be deciding on soon.
I’d also like to make some improvements to other subclasses (in particular the battlemage and freerunner), but I currently don’t have any solid ideas to commit to for them.
