Afraid I don't have much to report this week, as I've mostly been tied up with implementing things I've already shared and fulfilling some real life obligations. Work on 0.7.4 does continue to progress and I hope I'll have a beta and full blog ready in another week or two. I should have more things to share here next week once implementation details become more specific.
In the meantime, I'm very interested to hear what you guys might like to see around here. I don't want this patreon to be in a sort of barren soft-launch state forever, and while I do have some of my own ideas I'd love to hear what you folks might like to see as patron benefits.

I get notified via email but I always reply on the website itself incase there were edits (I do this on github too). Discord roles are basically certain if/when I make a Shattered Pixel discord, but the only way I would offer those roles on the PD discord is if they didn't grant any exclusive benefits and the option was also open to other major mod developers. In-app mentions unfortunately aren't really possible because google likely won't let me mention patreon, though website-based mentions are more possible.

2019-06-28 18:54:25 +0000 UTCMerch is something people have repeatedly mentioned, it is definitely worth pursing but there are issues with scale and designs. I absolutely don't want to just slap spritework on a t-shirt, or work with a manufacturer that makes a shoddy product. You do make an excellent point with pins though, there's a much lower barrier to entry for those and I would feel much more comfortable using a more minimal design there. I don't want to commit to physical goods until I have rolled out more non-physical rewards and have a better idea of how big the patreon will be, but pins will almost certainly come first if I do do physical merch.

2019-06-28 18:23:33 +0000 UTCIn addition to the previous comment (I know you get emails for each comment but I'm not sure if you reply to the email directly like Github, which would render substantial edit-based additions useless ), some other benefits that would interest me would be mentions in your website or even the app itself or exclusive Shattered-based background images for computers and phones. A discord role WOULD be nice but I know that's rude to everyone else and kind of goes against the way you've run the server.

2019-06-28 05:55:06 +0000 UTCI'm not exactly sure how far you are willing to go for benefits, but I would totally love a Shattered Pixel t-shirt. I've done a cursory pass on Google to see what others do for this sort of thing, and merchandise seems to be a pretty viable option especially when we can provide our addresses to Patreon and we practically pay for it ourselves with our donations. It doesn't have to be a T-shirt, rat king or shattered pixel pins would be epic too, and I would totally wear that.

I know most of the patrons I currently have are probably here regardless of benefits, but coming up with fun things to get people engaged is really helpful for pulling in people who are on the fence. I'm excited to try building a more general Shattered Pixel community as well. I don't have plans to stop with Shattered anytime soon, but eventually I hope people here will be interested in whatever I work on next!

Like most people struggle finishing sandwiches, yet here you are defining the Roguelike genre on Android (possibly iOS?) like a champ, I won't even congratulate you now because then it would ruin the satisfaction later on, but thanks for being a cool dude anyway.

2019-06-24 12:56:17 +0000 UTCI mainly just want to see you finish the game dude, not half assed, and not rushed. Of course you can quit whenever you'd like but I suspect you deeply want/need to finish this as 'proof' of your ability and dedication. It's your baby and you wanna see it grow :)
