The Haunting of Hill House S1 E6 * FULL LENGTH REACTION

FINALLY!! I've been waiting impatiently for everyone to be together (almost).

We make some steps towards reconciliation with some members of the family, or at least things are out in the open. But at the same time, more issues and disagreements happen.

There is so much family drama in this series!! ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ

I'm just hoping that Dad reveals everything to them (I assume he will, but the question is... will it be too late?)

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch along.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Thank you so much everyone for being here!! ๐Ÿคฉ

No, you don't duct-tape Steve's mouth shut, he's entitled to say anything he wants, even his dad agreed with that and said it earlier in the episode. /smh

I really really admire the camera work on this one. The episode was basically composed of two long sequence shots plus. I was especially amazed by the transition between the funeral parlor and Hill House. The first sequence alone lasted twenty minutes and it took months to plan, rehearse and film. I like that you pointed out the statues looking alive but didn't seem to notice that the left statue looked away from Olivia when she entered the room but look at her with a scared face when she went back out. I don't think you have to worry, the circling camera was only for these long sequences. And it is a great style choice to illustrate the turmoil and chaos inside the family members. My favorite moment was when Kevin admitted that he took Steves money on Shirleys behalf and the moment he said it the camera came to a full stop. Such great visual storytelling...๐Ÿ˜ I was actually glad that Theo was drinking so much, because it actually numbed her. A sober Theo would have probably entered the family screaming contest and her jabs would have been the most hurtful of anyone. I feel torn about Steve. On the one hand he is really annoying in his stubborn insitence of a mental illness, but he is the one clinging to "reality" and he is still in denial, although his wall is getting larger and larger cracks. A mental illness makes total sense from his view and he is desperate because no one wants to admit the seemingly obvious. Oh and in contrast to Theo his drinking is making him angrier. On the other hand I kind of feel sorry for him, he is lonely, hurt, desperate and still his dad refuses to give him answers, even in the short moment where Steve did let him talk. He is (more than any of the others) close to a break down, because he got really good at lying to himself and these lies are crumbling down one by one...๐Ÿค” Once again the twins (especially Nelli) broke my heart. It was the great tragedy of her life that she was the one going out of her way to care for her family and was overlooked or not taken seriously by any of them...๐Ÿ˜ญ
