The Haunting of Hill House S1 E4 * FULL LENGTH REACTION

A very different episode, but so amazing.

I'm really happy to focus on him this time around, and wow he is fascinating and heartbreaking.

I keep saying this, but I cannot wait for the next episode, this series has me wanting to binge it!!

When the series released, was it one per week? Or it was released in a bingeable fashion?

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch along.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Thank you so much everyone for being here!! 🤩

Both the adult and child actors are astounding in this series!!! Yes, it's such a great family drama with elements of horror/spookiness to it!! The characters' backstories, experiences and actions are what I love. They all are so different and no two sibling relationship is the same!! I don't want Steve to be right since he's so negative and dismissive about everything!! It breaks my heart to see Luke happy, then we see him struggle and be terrified. The actor is really captivating. He is so complex, and I would love to have multiple episodes centered around him. His guilt is really shown when he's struggling to get past the fourth step. He regrets so much, and he feels so trapped and alone. Kid Luke and Nellie are too adorable!! They are so innocent and I just want them to be safe and happy. I don't like seeing Luke terrified (kid or adult). I'm so glad you're enjoying Exception-TV-Shot-Monday so much!! I really appreciate your write ups every week 😊🤩

All in all one of the most heartbreaking episodes of this show, like every episode revolving around the twins...🙈 The elder children had inner walls and mindsets that protected them to a certain degree from the horrors of the house, but the two youngest didn't have any protection mechanisms and where left alone without support or an explanation. No wonder Lukes life got on a slippery slope early on. What I love most about this show is that it works as well as a family drama as it works as a ghost story. It is so well written. So far every sibling had his/her own episode, beginning with the oldest. And this show has the greatest monologues - well written and such an opportunity for the actors to shine...🤩 The drama of addicition is that you never get away from it anymore once you're hooked. Joey made it nine months and yet one weak moment was enough to throw it all away again. Despite the fact that she really likes Luke, she doesn't hesitate to steal his money and run. And you could see the guilt in her eyes in the beginning and then change their expression when the addiction began to override everything else. Such great acting. It was so heartbreaking to get a glimpse to a few months back when we saw a relatively healthy, funny and charming Joey, but in the end Steve was (unfortunately) right - she would fall victim to the addiction again and betray him...😟 And Luke would be the one who got hurt - because all his life he was longing for someone to believe (in) him and latches on to everybody who seems to care about him, like Joey. Also I think he tried to help and protect Joey because he (in his own eyes) failed to be there for Nell. Again - how did they manage to find the two cutest and most talented young actors to play Luke and Nellie? These two kids where amazing...😊 Your Exceptional-TV-Show-Mondays are becoming a cornerstone of my streaming week, I can't wait to what's next when this show is over (not that I want it to be over soon)...😍

I believe all of the series that Mike Flanagan did for Netflix were released in full, they were a bit before the push for weekly releases came around. They made for a fun night shift to binge a whole show!
