I am beyond excited for this, and this first episode did not disappoint. So much is happening, and I want to see more!
Definitely Mel's mom is responsible for the attack, I have a gut feeling. Damnit!
Each side has good people and bad people, it's not just a fight of "top side vs undercity".

Yeah I was confused because I thought they were with Silco, but Silco is dead, so my next guess was Firelights because of the green.

Silco used these suits filled with shimmer to turn people into those brutes, specifically some members of the Firelights they captured or held, hence the green they still have. I remember they had them using those hoverboards in S1

Convenient that Ambessa (I didn't know that was her name, I don't remember anyone saying it π ) is right there, ready to save the day. Mel not being killed is a very big indication that it's staged. If it was really the villains, I don't think they would be so lenient

The long wait is finally over...π It is the same here like with the first season, it is released in three arcs Γ‘ 3 episodes and if you are able to you should watch them that way, too. π My favorite bit from the new opening credits: The ticking clock shadow of Ekko...π€© I too think the attack at the memorial is staged, too. Ambessa and her soldiers are too conveniently there to save the day at the last second. Plus she already uses councillor Salo to convince the council to go into full on war. The camera too often cuts to her when they're talking about using hextech or about help from inside. π€ Renny attacks Jayce because it was him who killed her son. The fake enforcer was one of Silcos goons, he can be seen in the background around Silco throughout season 1. And it occured to me just now, that he didn't try to kill Mel Medarda, even though she was unprotected and helpless in that moment. If Ambessa actually is behind the attack it would make sense to take care that her daughter isn't harmed during the fight...π€
