Firefly Episode 13 * FULL LENGTH REACTION

Definitely not the ending of the episode I was hoping for 😢

I really just love seeing these characters interact together, it's been so wonderful to care for them, be angry at them, roll my eyes at them and laugh with them.

Jayne is, well... Jayne.  There's no denying it.   I think it's a great way to show consistent characterization when we have an idea of how they'll react given a certain situation.

One more to go 😭

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the episode.  Also know there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

Firefly Episode 13 * FULL LENGTH REACTION

Comments

I really need to double down and get to reading, there are SO many things to read!! I just looked it up and there are quite a lot of comics

Verowak

this has to be a joke account, right?

Garren Haskell

I cant believe we're so close to the end already. After the movie if you still want more Firefly there are a ton of comic books that give you backstory and stuff they would have done on the show if it hadn't been cancelled.

Ashley

She played both roles very well!

Verowak

Yes, why?

Verowak

Ooh I'll have to look up what the future plans for the series would have been if it hadn't been cancelled!!

Verowak

I absolutely love getting so into a show and in tune with the characters like that!! I'm pretty good at pattern recognition so figuring out characters is always a joy for me, and if I can get a feel for the style or writing/dialogue and characters, then I really enjoyed the show/movie. I love how complicated/stubborn Mal and Inara are about each other, all part of navigating relationships :D

Verowak

I like to think it's because the show ended that they went this route. It would have been really neat exploring their relationship had it not been cancelled :D

Verowak

No sympathy for Inara here. She has no right to expect exclusivity or boyfriend benefits from Mal when she made very clear to him previously that they were not together, would never be, and often slashes at him verbally. She has done this before, acting hurt when other women show interest in Mal while she constantly pushes him away. - edited to clarify serious part

I always like seeing Melinda Clarke. Nandi reminds me a lot of her portrayal of Mistress Heather on "CSI".

JAKH

Ummm . . . you do know that this is a Joss Whedon show right?

JAKH

While they did find out the show was cancelled during the production of The Message, this episode was shot beforehand, so I’m not sure the cancellation influenced the storytelling as much as it might seem. However, they did reshoot some scenes for other episodes after the cancellation, including this one, so it is possible that final scene was one of them. But I’m inclined to believe it was always going to happen that way, in part because of what the cast and crew have said about future plans for the series if it hadn’t been cancelled.

In episode one, it was so fun watching you finish Mal's sentences, and now you accurately call everyone's next quip. I mean, back then you were trying to wrap your head around how this 'verse is made, and now you are concerned over a story point that might come and then suddenly there it is and you have to feel the weight of it. You are so in tune with this show now. Also that silent conversation between Mal and Inara about Nandi. First, you could see both process what happened, and then you could see both grieve over her, and then you could see both commiserate between themselves about what the other has lost, and then you could see both get that iron will of retribution. "Go get 'em," indeed.

Vero, the first time I saw this, I was fearing the same thing you did. I *wanted* it to go one way, but feared the opposite. 😢
