Mission Impossible: Fallout (2018)* FULL LENGTH REACTION

Ethan Hunt meets Superman?!

I didn't know Henry Cavill was in a Mission Impossible!!

This was such an amazing movie, and I loved seeing all the characters again!! 😍πŸ₯°

Now I'm all caught up and ready for Dead Reckoning when it comes to a streaming service at some point πŸ˜€

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the episode.  Also know there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

Mission Impossible: Fallout (2018)* FULL LENGTH REACTION

Comments

Maybe. I will say that even though I wish D.R. had made different choices, I'm definitely going to see the second film. I think I'm hooked on the series enough that I'll keep watching them as long as they continue to make them. [Also, without spoiling DR 1, I can still imagine a way that the plot of the next movie could make me feel better about DR 1. It's a slim hope, but it could happen.]

So if Dead Reckoning 2 is along the same lines, would you say it's best to end the franchise instead of continuing it? (I'm also assuming that this next one is the last one just because Tom Cruise is getting old)

It's kind of weird about the "Dead Reckoning" reception. It got VERY positive critical reviews. (And to be fair, it does do a lot of things very well. From a purely objective standpoint, it's good technical filmmaking.) I think the people that had the most issues with it were super-fans (like me) who have more of a personal investment in that world than a casual viewer might.

I'm super curious to see what Dead Reckoning is like. I have heard generally negative comments about it, but I'll find out what they are at some point (unless I don't see anything negative about it lol)

I'm really looking forward to this. (As far as Dead Reckoning, I just have to say it's okay if you're not fully on board with it. I think it's pretty obvious from my comments that I'm a big MI fan, and I was really looking forward to DR. However, I ended up wishing that a number of things were done a bit differently. Of course, everyone has their own taste. I'll be curious to see if you walk away from it with some of the same issues that others have expressed.)

That sounds like a great one to watch then! Alicia Vikander was flawless in Ex Machina, so a huge bonus 😍

Verowak

Perfect timing it seems!! I'm looking forward to Dead Reckoning, just need to keep an eye out for when it becomes available

I was not expecting to enjoy the MI franchise so much, but they were all amazing! This one was absolutely fantastic, and I find it hard to imagine that they can top it lol

Ouch! It looked scary as all hell, and even worse that he broke his ankle. Not knowing much about skydiving, the stunt didn't look as crazy as the other ones, but then again, while I'm watching it's hard for me to know if it's done on a set or not. I clearly need to read up on all these stunts to get a better understanding of the difficulties

You must have known that I searched through your M I reactions to see which movie was coming. Then this pops up today. Wooo Hooo! It’ll be worth the wait until Dead Reckoning is streaming (without extra charge)

So glad you watched this. My favourite M:I, and one of the best action movies ever made.

If you’ve not seen Man from Uncle (2015) you should check it out since you enjoyed Henry Cavil doing the spy/buddy cop thing. It’s a reboot of the same named 60s spy show with Cavil and Armie Hammer doing action/comedy (more heavy on the comedy) with a similar feel. Alecia Vikander (of Ex Machina) costars with them. Very fun movie!

The scene jumping between buildings that you winced at- Cruise broke his ankle there! In the cut that they used in the movie! And the HALO jump even without all the stunts between actors is generally only done by very experienced expert skydivers since it’s pretty dangerous adding the need for oxygen and long time in free fall/opening very late. It’s used by military special operations groups only opening the parachutes so late to be much less visible, and get to the ground faster instead of being vulnerable hanging from a parachute for longer than needed.
