Comments

I remember hearing that "In Bruges" was amazing but had no idea what it was even remotely about until what you just mentioned. It's been something that I want to watch though

I know the title of "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" 🀣 I'll dabble into westerns at some point!

Verowak

I hope you write about everything you feel about this album. All the good you felt, all the bad you felt, all of the ugly. All of that good ol' fashioned western goodness. [Edit] You don't watch alot of movies, so you might well not see the reference to the classic western "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly". Dangit.

If you want more Brendan Gleason id highly recommend watching 'In Bruges' and 'The Banshees of Inisherin', both of which also star Colin Farrell and directed by Martin McDonagh. They're Drama/Comedy and VERY Irish.. especially "Banshees"

Not at idiot at all :D I'll definitely give 28 weeks later a try, since 28 Days Later was really a good watch. I have non editing work to do today, so GY!BE will be given a listen! Starting with Luciferan Towers album πŸ˜€

So GY!BE. Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Please start later in their career. Towers ('17) and State's End ('21). There are other albums that aren't meant to be on shuffle, and instead meant to be listened to as a singular idea and as a concept, but these two are great recent ones. I have seen, and I own on purpose, the sequel. 1 is not 2, and 2 is not 1. They just happen to take place in the same universe. And they are almost equal in effect. (By the way, great use of "affect" vs "effect". And I just did it too.) [Edit - I'm an idiot, this is a long way of saying I like 2 in my own way.]

Richard Flores

I have not heard of GY!BE before so I'll have to check them out!! Thank you! I came to the movie because of John Murphy and it was just so fantastic! And yeah it does feel real and the fact that the genres just fit so well together shows us that this could be real life since we have sadness and happiness and frustration and fear all mixed together! I love how they get affected so damn fast, usually it feels like it takes a while for humans to become zombies when they get bit/infected. Have you seen the sequel, and if so, do you like it too?

After it won the poll, when you first mentioned that you have known and enjoy this soundtrack, I got so excited and started to write a comment and then remembered that GY!BE definitely did not have their song East Hastings on the soundtrack. So then I had to wait until you watched the movie. So from me to you, someone else who deliberately listens to movie soundtracks on purpose, I recommend GY!BE albums. Not songs, no. Albums. And now the movie. I love it and I love it deeply. Came in because of Danny, knew nothing, came out of it so impressed. You mention during the beginning, you hope this "feels real" and that is one of my favorite parts about it, its almost a documentary about something that never happened. You mention different genres, and none of them feel jarring to me. They don't feel like they're shoehorned in. Every single change of beat, of delivery, it all feels so natural. I've seen it. So. Many. Times. And every single time I watch it, that's all I can think. "This is so amazing. This is so well done." That's it.
