Andor Episode 7 *FULL LENGTH REACTION

Merry MAndor-Monday!

We start a new arc and holy crap were there some amazing moments in this one!

My dreams may be coming true at some point, since we saw a very special type of character 😊

Just seeing a K unit made me so excited for the possibility of seeing K2 eventually 😁😍

I love how Mon Mothma and Luthen are on the same side ish, but have VERY different ways of getting things done and doing what they think is right.  Andor is just getting more and more intriguing as we go, and ALL of the storylines are fantastic!  Seeing what will happen to Karn, what Meero is up to and will find out, will Bix and Maarva have a storyline intertwined with Vel/Cinta?!

And of course, Andor going to prison for something he DIDN'T DO! 🤣

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the episode.  Also know there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

So excited to continue this arc!

This style of series is 100% up my alley! It's very different from other Star Wars stuff but it's also showing a very different perspective on things, so it makes sense. I'm really excited to see the rest of this season!

It's neat to see that actions have consequences, which can be pretty massive consequences when the Empire is involved. Andor has a lot to learn, and I'm here for it!

I never look at the credits since I much prefer finding things out during the episodes. I guess they didn't say Yularen, so ideally I wouldn't be aware of who the character is. I do feel like Mon is in a shitty situation because she's such a public figure. It must be pretty damn tough navigating all that madness! Luthen does seem to have an easier time with navigating it because he's not such an important person lol I'm really looking forward to seeing what Karn and Meero are going to do. They seem very determined which is not great for those rooting for Andor 🤣

I love that he got arrested for no good reason, just throws a wrench into any plans he could have. I certainly hope it wins some awards, it's such a well made series. But then again, I haven't watched too many recent series so I have no idea what the competition is like aside from The Last of Us, which also deserves all the awards. I don't remember anyone saying Yularen, perhaps I just missed it then lol I seem to miss important information when watching TV series or movies 😁 The K units are great!!! Gives me so much hope for K2

I think other people have talked about the details of the show more than I could, so I'm just happy to you see that you seem to be into it :) hopefully, that just improves as we go. Since this show is quite different from other star wars stuff there's always a chance it doesn't hit so was glad to see that :P Thank you for the reaction

Cassian returns home to take Marva and B, saying they can go where the Empire hasn't gotten to yet. Marva says he can try if he wants but they're everywhere. He leaves and goes to a place he didn't think they were and guess what, he gets arrested for basically just being there. He sees Marva was right, he was wrong, and that you can't run from/escape the empire. This is a similar attitude to Jyn in Rogue One when she has the line about seeing the imperial flag flying above and it's not a problem if you don't look up. They mentioned the PORD act in the beginning of the episode, a direct result of Aldhani, and Kassian is arrested and sentenced to a much longer sentence because of that specific act. Now Cassian has seen how Aldhani has affected Ferrix and now the galaxy as a whole. I don't know how it was broken down, but episode 7 is sort of a standalone episode or more of a setup for the next arc. The next "arc" is 8-10 and is probably my favorite of the show. 11 and 12 are the "2 part finale"

Lots to talk about in this episode (and really the show itself) I don't think you looked at the credits, but the white haired imperial giving the opening speech at the ISB is Admiral Yularen, like the one from the Clone Wars. He was actually in the original trilogy but we didn't quite know who he was at that point. We know where his loyalties lie... Luthen and Mon are very different...they want the same end goal but go about it very differently. Luthen is very much the "whatever it costs" type whereas Mon wants to be as peaceful or low key as possible, but like Luthen says, eventually there has to be a breaking point. You can't politically overthrow the Empire without violence and drastic measures. I think it's different for Mon because she's so much more of a public figure than Luthen and she's already being monitored that she feels like she's more at risk if drastic measures are taken (like Aldhani). Even though he's not as public of a figure as Mon, Luthen is still very paranoid in his secrecy, meeting with people, communicating, etc. That's not a bad thing of course, but that just puts an extra level of stress and paranoia on top of what you're already doing. --Deidra/Karn I find the characters of Deirdra and Karn to be fascinating. Both are very much duty first, feel they're absolutely doing the right thing, and are very determined. At this point, neither has done anything especially bad but because they're against Andor and the rebels, people dislike them. Karn especially is a character where if you isolate him from the rest of the story, he could be the main character of a separate show. *Detective tries to do right by murdered coworkers, gets fired by his bosses because he tried to catch the murder and failed. Now he's got to work his way back up and catch the guy himself somehow*. He has one of the most relatable stories in the show so far to me so it's really fascinating that just because of context in the story he's the "bad guy" but if you isolate his story it's like a detective/cop type story.

Start of the new arc. I don't think anyone saw Andor being arrested for no good reason coming. Some of the best acted scenes I have seen in a long time almost every scene could be the highlight of an Emmy presentaion (I hear they are lobbying heavily to get some Emmy nominations, which they would deserve imo) Fun Fact : The head of the ISB in the meeting is none other than Yularen (The fleet admiral helping Anakin and Obi-Wan throughout the series) from the Clone Wars (I didn't catch on initially unitl I re-watched it.) My mouth hit the floor when I saw those K units. Obviously Andor can't spend 6 years in prison if the events of Rougue One are roughly 5 years away. Like you said I really hope Disney gets the hint and makes more shows like this. The next 5 episodes are some of the best television period, imo.
