Clone Wars Episode 206 (034) *FULL LENGTH REACTION

Hello friends!

It's Sunday which means... Clone Wars time!

So many great things in this episode, and some a bit frustrating.  It feels like Anakin is one of the only Jedi who will fight for his padawan and not just "accept that it's their time".

I feel like Luminara's last words of this episode are very important.

"When the time comes I am prepared to let my student go.  Can you say the same?"

Clearly Ahsoka is not in Episode 3, and I don't think she dies, so she ends up... not being with Anakin anymore (I don't want to know, this is me speculating, so please no spoilers or expectation spoilers like "just wait until you see X").

I love how Clone Wars is showing us more about Anakin and what is important to him.

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the episode.  Also know there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

I hope you all have a great start to the week!

Yes, another young Padawan to interact with is great for Ahsoka, I hope there are more episodes with this kind of interaction in the future. I do like when TV series ties in or follows storylines from previous series. It helps make the world feel more connected

Seeing how Obi-Wan and Anakin are, as well as Anakin and Ahsoka makes the other Jedi/padawan relationships look... not great 😂 I do love how the contrast between Anakin and the other Jedi is shown. The series feels so well made because we get to see just how different Anakin is to the rest while getting some great character development for him. I loved the change in how Obi-Wan and Anakin interacted with each other from episode 2 and episode 3, and this series is really doing well with showing that development. Seems I should speed run watching Clone Wars and Rebels before Manadalorian and Ahsoka. Not sure if that will be doable lol

Nice for Ahsoka to have another young Padawan girl around to bond with instead of being surrounded by Multiple Masters well above her age haha. Was gonna say something similar to the person above but less spoilery, Most Star wars shows you can generally just jump into at any time and still follow the plot reasonably well and understand what's going on, but the upcoming Ahsoka series (based on what's been seen) is probably the only show that if not seen other certain shows beforehand people will have a hard time keeping up with what's what.

The contrast of Luminara and Barriss (the typical jedi/padawan relationship) and the Ahsoka/Anakin relationship is obviously a statement on how those two are not typical jedi, but also how Anakin really wasn't "properly" trained by Obi-wan, mostly because they were close in age. Obi-wan was always more of a brother and Qui-Gon would've been the father figure so their dynamic is very different than teacher/student and very informal. We just get used to it because that's generally all we see. Luminara's line at the end is just a general statement to Anakin's character. Anakin's greatest strength is his compassion and ability to care like you said, and it's both what makes him turn to the dark side (Padme) and also what ultimately makes him turn back to the light (saving Luke). Similar to his relationship to Obi-Wan, his relationship to Ahsoka is like a big brother/little sister dynamic which is why they get along so well but also why they have a reputation for being informal and arguing like Luminara mentioned at the beginning of the episode. Like you said, Anakin REALLY cares about people that get close to him, and Luminara is the "figure head" of the jedi for this episode saying "we shouldn't be attached". Rebels should be the next thing to watch after clone wars. Bad batch can be watched as well after Clone Wars, but Rebels has more tie-ins and set ups for shows like mandalorian and Ahsoka. Bad Batch happens at the end of clone wars and can be watched any time really.
