April Update/Schedule!!

Hello, hello there!!

Another schedule, hopefully no covid this month to derail everything!  The plan is to have 5 Patreon uploads every week!  For the time being, for full length reactions, I'll have 3 episodes of Clone Wars, 1 episode of Obi-Wan and 1 movie.

I also have my April YouTube schedule attached, so we can see which movies will be released on the Wednesday before they go on YouTube.

My general idea is to have somewhat frequent Patreon polls (every 5 weeks), in which I will take requests and then randomly choose a handful of movies for a poll on here.  I'm not sure what the best way is to keep track of the movie recommendations, but I'm working on it.  At the moment I have an excel spreadsheet, but I may just switch that to Google Sheets and you will be able to see what recommendations you've made and can let me know if you want to change them.

Now that Star Wars is done, I do want to check out some smaller franchises (MIB, Jurassic Park, Terminator, Robocop, Mission Impossible, etc), and standalone movies (Saving Private Ryan, Looper, Fight Club, In Bruges, Galaxy Quest, etc).

Sadly, I'm glad that I'm almost done the Sequels just due to the overwhelming amount of negativity in the YT comments that I have to see.  Reading hundreds of comments just bashing on something gets to be a LOT at times.  I understand not liking the movie, but that being the only thing people say and not comment on anything else about my reaction is pretty disheartening.  That's my little rant.

I have a HUGE list of recommended movies, and I'm thinking of making a program that sorts through the list and tracks how many times each movie has been recommended, then I'll sort it and choose from the top ones at times.

I'm also hoping to get my tiktok/shorts channels up and running this month, also (one will be clips of my reactions, so if you happen to love my reaction to certain scenes from movies, I would love to know).  Basically there are SO many things that I would like to do, I just have to miraculously find a few extra hours a day to make it all work somehow.  If any of you know where I can find a hyperbolic time chamber, that would be fantastic.

I'm going to be planning a Discord hangout night in April at some point.  If you're interested in being part of it, let me know if you prefer playing free/browser-based games, chatting, other, or if you're up for any of it.  I would love to get to know everyone better :)

Also, let me know if you'd like my updates to include other topics or anything else!

Have a grrrrrrrrrrrreat weekend!! 🤩

Comments

It's unfortunate that there's just so much hate that people refuse to let go of. Especially that ones that say "Everything after the originals are abysmal" It's fine to think that, but to spend time going to people's videos just to say that seems like a waste of time to me 😂 I definitely want to watch both Mission Impossible and Top Gun (since I always thought it was the same franchise, but it turns out it's not). I like the fact that the focus becomes on the chemistry between characters, instead of just action :D

That sucks about the YT comments. It's become a cottage industry to hate on Star Wars now, and I think a lot of people feel this bizarre 'communal strength' by review-bombing certain franchises and collectively hating on something. This is kind of why I expressed some wariness with you starting the whole Star Wars saga. For me, the way the S.W. fandom has become so toxic and politicized has taken away all the fun of trying to get lost in that 'galaxy far, far away.' P.S. By the way, I would love a reaction to MISSION IMPOSSIBLE. But just know the series goes through some growing pains. The first one--while iconic in its own way--doesn't have the same tone as the rest of the movies. And MI2 is arguably awful. ... However, starting with MI3, it's clear that Cruise and new-producer J.J. Abrams totally rethought the approach to the franchise. Cruise's main character became way more self-deprecating and relatable, and more of a focus was put on the chemistry between the characters.

I can completely understand how actors can leave social media because of fans. This hate isn't even directed towards me and it's pretty insufferable at times. Those poor actors :(

It's sad there's so much negativity around the sequels and people allow that toxicity to bleed into everywhere content is made. As John said, your videos and general attitude is an overwhelmingly positive breath of fresh air. I've loved watching you enjoy them and I'm sorry that the comments haven't been in a similar vein. Looking forward to the discord hangout! Any of my fellow patreons who are on the fence about taking part: I'd thoroughly recommend it!

I'm glad you enjoy the quote trivia and imdb trivia! I like doing those!! I don't think I'll ever understand the need to just be negative in YT comments, there's a way to express dislike for something while still pointing out things that were good lol. I've never seen Doctor Who, but I know that TARDIS is a time machine!! I would love to borrow your TARDIS 🤩

Like my parents would always say: "If you cant say something nice, don't say anything at all". Noone is forcing them to watch something they don't like. Your reactions are positive and fun, and your quote trivia and imdb trivia are unique features I have not seen anywhere else, and personally, I love them. Also, you are welcome to borrow my TARDIS to get you some extra time :)
