Clone Wars Episode 103 (008) *FULL LENGTH REACTION

Hello, hello!

Continuing this Malevolence Trilogy, and it seems like the ship is WAY too robust!  It's not getting destroyed despite all the pew pew that the Republic is doing.  It's interesting to see just how good of a pilot Anakin is, and I'm glad they went above the ion cannon's blast!!

This is what I was hoping for and it seemed like it took a while to clear the charge.

Take THAT General Grievous!  You cannot destroy the medical base, thankfully, though they did destroy a few freighters that had injured clones on them :(

Time to destroy that ship next episode!

Reminder that you need your own copy of the episode to follow along !!

Until next time,

- Vero

Yes! I love how he listened to Ahsoka, and in all honesty, most people think they are average at what they do even if they are above average, it sometimes takes an outside perspective to point out that just because we can do something easily, doesn't mean everyone else can. I'm not sure how long before the million clones are ready though, I guess I'll look into a sort of timeline for that. 200,000 ready in Episode 2, but the Clone Wars spans a few years I'm guessing, so I'm curious to know when how many clones were ready. I wonder if Kamino is a target for the Separatists in order to slow or stop the clone training. That is a LOT of systems, I had no idea it was THAT massive ๐Ÿ˜จ And terrifying, I would like to know how many droids the separatists have.

I feel like Anakin learned a valuable lesson here that inspiring suicidal bravely/confidence isn't the only form of leadership. Being aware of the limits of those under your command is so important, and as Ahsoka told him, just because he can make it doesn't mean that everyone else can. In Episode 2: Attack of the Clones, Lama Su (the Prime Minister of Kamino) said that 200,000 units were ready, with a million more well on the way, so those 60,000 wounded are a pretty significant number and highlights well how high the losses were in this war. How many wounded survivors have we seen from the battles so far compared to how many dead? It's very sobering, and with how callous & stereotypically evil the droid commanders are being here it is crucial we have these moments to humanise the clones and it's great to see the moments where the Jedi express how they care. On a somewhat related topic, I don't know if they've officially mentioned the total number of systems in the Republic during the Clone Wars but in some of the old legend books (Shatterpoint is one I remember specifically) they said there's over 1 million. If that still holds up then that's enough for ~ 1 clone trooper per planet, to give a bit of a scale of the size of the front. This war truly was massive in scale.

It did remind me of episode 4 when they destroy the Death Star, though I'm assuming that after becoming Vader, Anakin's piloting skills were nerfed a bit or else I feel like he could have destroyed Luke while in the trench. I'm definitely going to need to pause on rewatches to be able to notice the different ships. Then again, I have a really hard time noticing differences between ships unless it's super obvious like a Death Star :/ I do love that there is just so much lore for Star Wars. Way more than I even would have guessed

I love that we got to see the BTL-B Y-wing. The Rebel Alliance used the BTL-A4 Y-wing starfighter a one-man version of the BTL-S3 starfighter model which first appeared in the Holiday Special cartoon. The BTL-A4 Y-wing starfighter though you may recall from A New Hope and Rogue One flown by Gold Squadron who were also apart of the attack on the first Death Star. These model did not have full coverage of the primary fuselage and engines instead the back half of the Y Wing was exposed giving it a more used and industrial look. Lore reason for this was to decrease the weight of the Y Wing to increase speed for the Rebellions get in and out style of combat. The whole Y Wing Attack on the Malevolence is very similar to the Trench Run on the Death Star down to the weapon firing and then blowing up.
