Star Wars Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith *FULL LENGTH

THE END OF THE PREQUELS IS HERE!!!

I just want to say that this movie is just epic.  There are a couple of things I didn't like too much, but oh boy was the character development and fights so amazing!

I've really enjoyed the whole Star Wars universe so far, and there's still so much to see, which is amazing!!  Though I'm sad that there are no more movies with Ewan McGregor, I'm glad that he has a TV series, and I really want to watch it soon.

With the end of Star Wars prequel, the next movie I'll be watching is Shrek!! I'm pretty pumped to see that, and I think there are sequels and spinoffs too?  I'm not 100% sure.

Just a reminder that you need your own copy of the movie to watch along with me, all Star Wars content is available on Disney+.

I hope you enjoy the reaction, and have a nice rest of your week!

Star Wars Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith *FULL LENGTH

I personally much prefer this fighting than what the fights were like in the original trilogy lol. The ending between master and padawan is really well done, and I'm glad they didn't make it more tame. It's interesting to see what aspects you didn't like about the movie! I love what CGI lets us do, but I understand how it's not well loved by everyone lol

This one is certainly the least bad prequel, though I’m still not a fan. I absolutely hate CGI with a passion and the prequels are border line Pixar movies with the amount they use. There’s a sterile look to it and your brain knows it isn’t real. Plus I get bored when the fight scenes are so over the top with a million backflips and CGI lightning. I also think the character of Yoda is ruined by having him fight like this - he’s supposed to be a wise old hermit and I think it cheapens him in a way to portray him this way. I do like the soundtrack to the Kenobi/Vader fight though and I think they did the Vader transformation just right as far as making it rather gruesome. I also agree that McGregor is great as Obi-Wan

My pleasure, the third act is quick, and frantic. I like it when the pace of the movie reflects a character's emotional turmoil, like Anakin. Things that are fast-paced and a lot of stuff happening just adds to the stress and chaos lol. It's also in my top 3 Star Wars films!! Even though it's so frustrating to see Palpatine 😅

Thanks for your great review. It's cool seeing this movie through other people's eyes. Honestly I saw it 6 or 7 times in theaters. I'm a Star Wars fanatic. The movie really moves at a frenetic pace especially in the 3rd act. Seemed like Lucas really rushed to get it down to under 2 hour 20 minutes. The deleted scenes are fun too. This is definitely ranked in my top 3 Star Wars films.

Huh, that's pretty interesting, it would be nice if it's confirmed as canon. Definitely better than her just dying because... she lost the will to live :D

Verowak

That's not long enough!! I can't see myself not enjoying it :D

Verowak

Dont know if it has been confirmed as canon but the popular theory as to why Padme dies so suddenly at the end is that Sidious uses her weak lifeforce to keep Anakin alive. Serving two purposes 1. Saving Anakin of course 2. Guaranteeing Anakins dependance on/dedication to the dark side and his new master. Padme was possibly the only one who could challange Palpatines influence over Anakin and so he needed to get rid of her. Sooner or later, This turn of events just made that act alot easier.

It’s only one season and only 6 episodes. I think you would love it!

Rob

I don't know how many seasons the TV series will have, but I'm hoping a lot!

Verowak

More Obi-Wan Kenobi would be most welcome.

Rob

I'll do Rogue one first since it came out first between the two standalones, plus I'm more excited to see that one :D I think he does an absolutely amazing Palpatine, I'm just thrown off with his snarls and theatrical villainy, but definitely a solid performance. I'm hearing more and more that the TV series are hit or miss, so I feel like after Rogue One, I'm diving into a hit or miss minefield :D

Verowak

Great reactions, glad to see you're enjoying your Star Wars journey. If you're going timeline wise I would recommend to go with Solo first. It's ok imo, not as bad some of the other Disney efforts imo. Rogue One is an emotional ride right into the OT. Personally, I loved Ian McDiarmid's performance in the series (Episodes 6,1,2,3) his background is that of a stage actor like Alec Guinness as Obi-Wan in the OT. The little snarls during the fight with Mace Windu did seem a little off to me too but not enough to detract from a solid performance in his "dual" roles. I think the TV series are kind of hit or miss, interested to see if we agree on the hits and misses, looking forward to those reactions.

That sounds right up my alley! Books are so nice because you get way more character development and what their motivations are. I would love to know about Count Dooku, Anakin, Padme, Obi-Wan... well basically everyone :D

Your write up just blew me away, I love the amount of detail and information of the different ships. I also never knew there was so much lore about Star Wars, I just thought there were the movies and then some TV series, but I'm learning that there are books and so much more. Can you easily spot the different ships while watching? I certainly can't, but perhaps with enough rewatches I would be. I figured I'll start with Clone Wars, but I may do Clone Wars + a Disney one, since the Clone Wars has so many episodes, and I do want to see the live action TV series. I think Mandalorian season 3 is releasing in march so I'll definitely not be caught up in time for that, sadly

Verowak

There are 4 main movies?! I thought there was like Shrek 1 and 2. Seems I have a new universe to explore!!

Verowak

As a lifetime long Star Wars fan that is great to hear. When you start watching the Clone Wars it's best to ask the Clone Wars fans wich order to watch the episodes in because they all jump around in time. Padmé dieing is related to having a broken heart, alot of eldery people die from it when their loved one passes. But it's not only with old people, sadly also young people suffer from it.

I would highly recommend reading the Revenge of the Sith book. While most of the film novelizations are directly from the film, RotS gets more in the character’s heads than the film could convey and it makes the story even better. Particularly with Anakin and Padme, their thoughts and motivations are more clearly defined. In a way it made me appreciate the movie even more.

Anakin & Obi Wan's Ship There's so many cool asspects of this film that call back to the original films. The ships piloted by Anakin and Obi Wan in the opening scene are Eta-2 Actis-class interceptors, ships with some visual designs that can be seen on the Impeiral Tie Fighter's such has the front cockpit window having that iconic Tie Fighter window design and the heat radiators on the sides which the Tie Fighters have of course the heat radiators on the Tie Fighters are hexagonal and much larger. The ETA-2 was designed for Jedi only many of the systems were striped out to make them lighter systems Jedi didn't need as they had the force. Star Destroyers The massive Capital ships you see being used by the Republic are Venator-class Star Destroyers also called Republic attack cruiser or Jedi cruiser it was the backbone of the Galactic Republic's naval forces. Kuat Drive Yards were the manufacturers of the Venator and the same manufacturers of the Imperial-class Star Destroyer you see in the original trilogy. The Venator in many ways is the precursor to the Imperial-class which you first see in a New Hope. Following the rise of the Galactic Empire, Venator-class Star Destroyers remained in service to the Imperial Navy during the early days of the Imperial Era (a time period we haven’t seen in the movies) later being replaced by the Imperial-class which is the in-universe reason why we don’t see Venators in the original movies. The Venator at the very end of this movie is a Imperial version fully grey doesn’t have the red makings of the Republic version and it doesn’t have the logo. Precursor to the X-Wings The fighter you see the clone fly in the opening is the ARC-170 starfighter joint produced by Incom Corporation and Sublight Products Corporation this ship was the main fighter of the Republic coming into service a year into the Clone Wars. The ARC-170 was the precursor to the T-65 “X-wing” starfighter which was created by the same Manufacturers. We also have the Z-95 Headhunter which was created after the ARC-170 and came into service at the end of the Clone Wars this does not show up in the movie, but it looks the closest to the X-Wing's you see in the original movies used by the Rebels more so than the ARC-170 as the Z-95 Head-hunter fills the role of a multi-purpose starfighter same as the X-Wing the only difference is no S-foils. Both the X-Wing and ARC-170 had S-foils “Strike foils” these would close in normal flight but open once the pilot gets into combat. precursor to the Tie Fighter The small fighters you see the clones fly are the Alpha-3 Nimbus-class “V-wing” starfighter created by Kuat Systems Engineering the same manufactures of the Eta-2 Actis-class interceptors which the Jedi flew. The idea of the V-Wing was to create a fast fighter which a normal person or Clone (non-Jedi or Droid) could fly pulling off the same moves and speed to that of a droid fighter. The V-Wing in many ways was the precursor to the A-Wing used by the Rebellion but also the Tie Fighter. At the end of the movie where we see the Death Star the V-Wings which flew past the shot had the Tie-Fighter sound effect a nice little nod which George himself wanted the sound team to put in to hint at the changing times and the rise of the Empire. Clone Armour The Clones in Revenge of the Sith have new armour the phase 2 which was much preferred by them as it was designed by humanoids and felt much better to wear compared to the phase 1 seen in Attack of the Clones. You may be wondering what’s up with all the colours well in the Grand Army of the Republic you have many different legions, attack battalions, etc. Each legion has a different colour, and some have their own unique armours for example the Clones with Blue markings you saw match into the Jedi Temple are members of the 501st under Anakin’s command while the Clone’s in orange are the The 212th Attack Battalion under the command of Obi Wan and Commander Cody. The Clones with the Red makings are the Coruscant Guard also known as Shock Troopers. The Coruscant Guard performed various duties in their service to the Republic, such as patrolling the galactic capital as riot control troopers to assist the Coruscant Security Force, and conducting hostage rescue operations they pretty much were the most loyal Clones to Palpatine. There's so many different Clone legions and types in this movie would take forever to write about lol most of them showing up at Order 66 montage serving under their Jedi General. The movie doesn't really give any details on the Clones which is expected the prequals are focused on telling the story of Darth Vader and not The Clone Wars but the Clone Wars TV show does dive deep into alot more area's the movies left out can't say anything without spoiling but the Clone Wars makes this era of Star Wars so much more interesting and does explain why the Clones were able to turn on the Jedi so easily after years of fighting along side their Jedi Masters turning it into my favourite time period. But yeah there's alot of story behind Order 66 and the clones. What to watch next Next I imagine you'll jump into Rogue One which is great i adore the film has a much more gritty and used look to the universe which carry's on into the amazing TV show The Mandalorian which is by far the best Star Wars created under Disney. Solo is a fun movie not my favourite but you may enjoy it love the look of it though just not the plot and my view on the Sequel movies is pretty negative but who knows maybe you'll enjoy them. But if anything I'd recommend Rogue One and then Andor which acts as a prequal to Rogue One. There's also Mandalorian set 5 years after Return of the Jedi so it will act as a fun follow up to the events of Return of the Jedi. The Mandalorian has two seasons 16 episodes in total. There's also the Obi Wan show as well so it's up to you what you'd like to watch after the Prequal. For spoilers don't worry you've gotten to a point where you're free to watch any of the shows after watching Revenge of the Sith. In terms of long term you have the Clone Wars over 100 episodes 7 Season altogether. There's a good list out there that only includes episodes and story arcs important to the overall story removing filler episodes. Rebels is also good only around 4 Seasons so not as much compared to Clone Wars and it's much more connected together while Clone Wars is more one off episodes but over the course of the show they connect together more. But everything else like Mandalorian and Andor these can be pumped out much faster.

Jedi Mandalore (Dylan)

Shrek franchise is up there with some of the best animated films, good choice on that. There are the 4 main movies of course and 2 spinoffs, with the most recent one coming out this past December and imo is actually one of the greatest animated movies I've ever seen so highly recommend those as well!

Michlale

It most definitely is. I was not really expecting to be this invested in the Star Wars universe, but this movie just increased my level of commitment to it :D

Verowak

The moment we've all been waiting for. This movie is a masterpiece.
