FULL LENGTH REACTION* for The Last Samurai

This is what happens when I procrastinate with editing.  I create amazing/disturbing thumbnails!

Next week starts the "Back to the Future" trilogy!!!  And soon, expect a Christmas movie poll up to help decide on 2 movies!

I hope you enjoy the reaction, and just a reminder that you need your own copy of the movie to follow along (unless you want to figure out what the movie is about based on my reaction which might be pretty difficult).

Have a great rest of your week!

Oh well you've got to go for Top Gun and it's sequal to round out his classic range, haha. The first is such a classic, and Top Gun Maverick is maybe one of the best sequals made, perfect balance of referencing the first but doing things differently). With Black Hawk Down you also get a lot of very young not yet super famous actors like Orlando Bloom!

HANS ZIMMER DID THE SOUNDTRACK FOR BLACK HAWK DOWN?! I didn't know that and now I'm looking forward to that movie even MORE when it happens. The Last Samurai was just so amazing, I definitely want to rewatch it and notice things a bit better now that I have the full story. This movie actually sold me on Tom Cruise and I need to see more of his movies. He was a great actor in Rain Man and I'm glad to see in this movie that he's versatile

Great reaction! You mention war movies, I may have missed if a poll showed up at some point but Black Hawk Down is a great one, and the soundtrack is by Hans Zimmer so it would continue that! I would put BHD as the best 'modern' (set early 90s) military film. I do love Last Samurai, both because I've always found Japanese culture from the era of Samurai very interesting and that it's such a beautiful movie, both the scenery and how it was done. The mountains are stunning... finally having mountains around me is what brought me to Seattle (and the cherry blossoms at the University in the spring remind me of the movie). Katsumoto was invited to the council because he was on the council himself. He was an advisor/teacher to the emperor but the business people had been manipulating the still very young emperor using his desire to modernize the country. The emperor was officially considered a living god, even through WWII, but for a long time by then was a figurehead.

I'm hoping it works well with YouTube and I'll do more like this :D

I'm so glad you enjoyed the movie! Had to skip to the end to see your review, I didn't want it to be a bad suggestion (in your opinion)! I'll do the watch along later today - I've seen this movie an excessive number of times already.
