FULL LENGTH REACTION* for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

If you need to warm up, this movie is Catching Fire so you should be fine. A quick heads up, there is no more shaky camera!!! I'm so happy they ditched that technique.

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed this one a lot more!! I was really surprised by Effie! In the first movie she was just there, and ok, but I feel like a lot of the characters got a good chance to be developed in this one. I understand that there is an attempt at a sort of love triangle, but I cannot see why anyone would like Gale. He feels like a nothing character (which I assume the books expands more on him, so book readers may see the love triangle as an actual thing). I'm so glad to hear your excited for part 3 and I look forward to seeing what you thought of it!! 😁

2023-11-17 14:51:46 +0000 UTCI enjoyed this a lot more than the first one. A couple of things stilled bugged me once they had entered the games but I won’t bother to detail those. I think each character developed nicely and I found myself much more interested in them all. Katniss I still enjoy, Peeta is great, Stanley’s character is still utterly outrageous and I love it. I was also surprised by Effie, I really warmed to her once it became clear how much she does actually care. Still couldn’t care less about Gale as not enough screen time, although they have clearly shown him as a good guy. I was a bit scared once I saw Phillip Seymour Hoffman and some of the talk about what would happen, but then remembered this is YA and so it didn’t get as dark as I was fearing. I did feel I had missed something when Prim’s name came up and she would be safe due to how much everyone loved her. Why is she any more than the sister that got saved when Katniss volunteered? I am genuinely confused about that one. Bring on part 3, I’m excited for it.
