Holy crap this episode is just something. Things are escalating quickly and I'm all for it!
I don't want to give any spoilers obviously but... just wow :)

I think my issue is that I didn't trust anything that Daemon said at first. I think I'm so used to all the backstabbing and lying from Game of Thrones, that I expected that from Daemon lol I need a different mindset for House of the Dragon, and I think upon rewatch and comments like that, I'll see him in a different light

Daemon fought with laenor in the stepstones, remember where daemon was the bait and laenor flew with his dragon seasmoke above them. Daemon thought very good of laenor, he also mentioned it at the wedding when he said, that laenor is a good man and a fine knight. Even daemon couldn't murder him like that for his desire, because he respected him to much for that.
