The last movie in the series is here! I will say that this one is my favorite of the three, and I love magical battles. Dumbledore is just amazing and I would like more movies with Dumbledore in the future.

Jude Law is such a wonderful Dumbledore! Eddie and Mads are also just fantastic, and I do love Aberforth too, though I've never heard of Richard Coyle before. Knowing the outcome doesn't sour anything for me, I enjoy the ride, especially knowing more of Dumbledore's life

Mads made the character seem more human and it was believable that he could care for Dumbledore at some point in his life. I would have loved Jacob if he didn't have the comedic aspect. I think he actually is a great character and just a shining light kind of thing. I'm in the same boat as you, I don't love the movies, but I like them, especially the third one. To me, that was by far the best one! I do think the first two movies don't really give much hope for the third one, so I can see people abandoning the series after the first or second movie.

2022-10-21 09:16:07 +0000 UTCI'm glad I'm not alone in preferring Mads rather than Depp as Grindlewald, the smartness, the casual demeanour, even the accent - He comes across like an anti dumbledore, whereas (as good as he was) Depp was a bit too 'TV villain of the week' I gotta say though I do love Jacob, he's a nice guy and he reminds me of my uncle, no matter how dark the situation he's there to brighten things up. This movie was his best, a damaged and hurt Jacob. I get why some don't like him but for me, his heart is in the right place, he's brave and kind and I just can't not like him as Newt's best friend. I didn't like any of them at the first, fantastic beasts isn't a book it's just a screenplay designed to give HP fans more content, but I dunno they kinda grew on me, especially when Mads joined, I love that man in anything. This 3rd movie feels like a good wrap up for Queenie and Jacob though, and going forward i think it has to be the 'legendary' battle between Dumbledore and Grindlewald as mentioned in the very first 1990's book. These movies will never be as good as HP, they're just a prequel set in its world, but I do love to see it continue, and I love me some Nifflers. :') I hope the next installments, should they arrive, are as good as, or better than this one. It's no HP, but as a series in its own right, I like it. I don't love it, but I like it.
