Here's a quote I came across today...

While rereading "The origin of species" by Charles Darwin. This is just one of the many things running around in my head while I draw...

"Although much remains obscure, and will long remain obscure, I can entertain no doubt, after the most deliberate study and dispassionate judgment of which I am capable, that the view which most naturalists entertain, and which I formerly entertained- namely, that each species has been independently created - is erroneous...I am convinced that Natural Selection has been the main but not exclusive means of modification."

I think it's important to remember that Darwin, and Wallace for that matter, came to this idea on their own, by observation and were convinced by the their observations alone, to abandon their previous beliefs of a young earth and that animals emerged fully formed "from the clay" solely from what they were able to observe themselves. Think about that. No one in a bow tie and a TV show or a textbook, told them this was truth, the truth was observable to them, as it is to all of us.
