Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai 1x3: "The World Without You" // Reaction and Discussion

Very likely the strongest 3 Episodes of any show out there, perhaps with some rare exception that puts up a mystery in the same time. Evangelion for instance.

I knew you guys would love the writing in this show...and I would never drop spoilers, but I will say the writing doesn't drop off, its great throughout. One thing I'd like to add to your discussion at the end is...firstly, doesn't it feel like more than three episodes....its so well written it feels like we watched 7 or 8 episodes... 2ndly, I feel like he had to change the atmosphere because he had the attention of everybody in the atmosphere that surrounded them and since his existence exists then the whole atmosphere acknowledged this situation of a confession and subconsciously assume without question that his confession is to a person that's real... it wouldn't even cross there mind that he's confessing to somebody who doesn't exist. So once he says her name, I think, she instantly exists because everyone has a version of what a confession is in there minds, and its always one person confessing to another....So in this atmosphere where she doesn't exist, but love could be stronger than the atmosphere, then everyone in the atmosphere has a concept of what a confession is and how it directly ties in as a situation of love, then of course she would exist or the atmosphere would have to be strong enough to change everyone's idea of what a confession is, which is ingrained in people because of its importance with love. Its the easiest way to get her to exist because its a jedi mind trick creating a situation that everybody believes in where she had to exist or it would go against everything they believed the situation should be. Her existence is a subconscious side affect of the situation happening... Just my opinion of course.

I like to think that this episode is not only the confirmation of Mai’s existence, but also Sakuta absorbing it. Sakuta, while confessing loud and clear to the atmosphere, tied his existence to hers. When people thought about Mai before the confession event everyone thought that she was invisible because she was unapproachable. After the confession event everyone’s first thought is Sakuta’s confession. They are now bound together by the atmosphere.

One of my favorite 3-episode starter arcs to any anime! Hope you guys enjoy the journey! I also really like Futaba's inclusion as a character, especially in these introductory episodes. Sakuta is also just a really refreshing MC, I love his personality. Somewhere between Koyomi and Kyon. I hope you guys are able to continue enjoying this blind!
