The lyrics to A Cruel Angel’s Thesis is an unofficial requirement on the Japanese citizenship test. Being able to sing it at full volume while drunk at a snack bar at 11pm is necessary for living in Japan.

2025-07-29 08:48:41 +0000 UTCI'd definitely recommend watching the Director's Cut of the last few episodes, and then the movie "End of EVA". The Rebuild movies, of which there are three, are less important, but bring a real finality to the series. It's not necessarily to watch them right away, but I think you'd really enjoy them. Speaking of, I knew you guys would love this how. It's unique to this day, and the single best show-case of depression I've ever seen in a show (not just anime.) And boy, does it get better and better. Shinji's scream in this episode sent shivers down by spine. It's so desperate. Hell of a voice-actor. That said, there's a ton of famous voice-actors in this show, and they all do a fantastic job.
