That calmed them down for the night, and May chose to leave the next morning to prevent any further fighting.

It is revealed that Knox drove his family away because he had extreme PTSD from the war to the point he almost killed his wife in his sleep. The town in question is the small town they found Marcoh, where he had integrated himself in the community thus it being personal to him. The previous episode, Envy taunted Marcoh by hanging that town over his head for his cooperation so it’s the one he has in mind once Kimblee recaptures Marcoh.
