This episode has probably my favorite individual scene in the whole series.. A couple things in the discussion to answer There are TWO movies, not just one. The first one chronologically is "Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll." The second is "Violet Evergarden: The Movie" This franchise is *NOT* a "Netflix Original Series." Netflix only purchased the global streaming rights from Kyoto Animation. This is Kyoto Animation's passion project and labor or love. KyoAni made it and decided to make it in the first place, and was the production committee for it, and they originally published the source light novel series through their imprint. This is too good for Netflix to have ever had any hand in its production whatsoever. For who the person she meets at the very end I have two theories: It's some unnamed client she had in the past that she recognizes, or it's the viewer. Probably my favorite scene in this whole series is Violet with Gilbert's mother. The combination of the words and sentiments being spoken, with the OST track "What It Means To Love," to Violet's reaction to what his mother says, and Violet saying "yes" as her personal inner acknowledgement that she loves him and knows what that means now.
