She couldn't reach subaru at that moment when he was talking about return by death and got upset or decided to go out of control because he was in echidna's domain. Obviously we know that her domain isn't that much of a problem for how OP satella is but that goes into spoilers.

Its still a great episode and continues everything giving you more answers and questions but that just goes to show how many 11/10 episodes are in this season.

2023-12-06 14:27:05 +0000 UTCYeah, I agree ReZero is one of the best adaptations out there and that sometimes it isn't as straightforward, since being too direct is also a bad thing, there is a balance to be found. And, usually, I think ReZero does an amazing job in finding that balance. This episode tho, is an exception. I don't think it needed to be as confusing as it was, but the problem comes from the Novel, which is also very confusing in this part. But also from some cut content. In the Novels, Subaru quotes 3 possibilities and checks Garfiel's reaction to each one of them, when he gets a reaction out of Garfiel, he realizes which topic Garf is "sensitive" about, thats when he has this whole realization. The anime kinda skips to the realization and doesn't show us the "3 test itself" making things way too confusing. We end up being like "wtf is Subaru doing? What has he realized? Why is he saying Garf is easy to read when he has struggled with Garf for like 4 loops in a row? The fuck is going on?!?!". I think the anime could have worded things in a way to make things a bit easier to understand, given that it cut the part that would "allow" us to properly understand the scene. Don't get me wrong, I still love ReZero, it is still my favorite piece of midia out there and it is still a 10/10, I just think this scene could have been done better.

2023-12-06 11:02:10 +0000 UTCWell, there is a reason, it's just not exactly straightforward, especially in season 2. The anime also doesn't help but that's always the case when you adapt a novel. I agree that the Garfiel scene for example is confusing a bit, but still, once you understand it, it's so good and makes so much sense. To be fair, you don't need to understand it fully to appreciate it (and this react is proof of that). As for the exposition, could have been done better, but was much needed at this point. Re:Zero is already way better than other novel adaptations when it comes to this so I can't complain.

It has been stated before how similar the two are. But I'll say this, Emilia is just warming up, You think you like her more than Satella but lets see if you feel the same soon :)

2023-12-06 06:49:29 +0000 UTCI think this is my least liked episode in ReZero, not that I think its bad, but IDK, for some reason I feel disconnected to Ryuzu and half the episode was her vomiting plot into us haha The Satella part, of course, is peak, I'm just not a big fan of what came after it. The interaction between Garf and Subaru was also a bit... overly confusing? Even in the novels, it is still kinda wtf just happened? When things seem overly confusing for no reason it bothers me a bit haha On the other hand, next episode is amongst my favorites!! Very, very hyped!!
