I would hate it when the anime is rushed before the manga if there is no light novel. That never ends good.

2023-10-19 21:24:30 +0000 UTCseason 1 25.5 chapters , 461 pages / dawn of the deep soul 12.5 chapters, 275 pages / season 2 22 chapters, 671 pages . there are currently 6 chapters with 266 pages, so you're right, in theory if they wanted to do a movie they could. But if they were going to do a season 3 they would need a LOT more content. i just dont think there anywhere near a satisfying part to end a movie at.

2023-10-15 15:03:28 +0000 UTCThe author releases precisely 1 volume a year... which isn't that long when you're worried about the health of mangakas (whose infernal working conditions and pace ruin their health, let's not forget. And they're not paid very well either). In fact, the author just takes a decent amount of time to do his job properly, without sacrificing his well-being and that of his assistants. Made in Abyss is now at 2 full volumes of story after the end of season 2. Season 1 adapting 3 volumes. Studio Kinema Citrus have announced a sequel to season 2, but as yet without specifying whether it's a movie or a season, or when it will be release. In any case, humbly showing patience is what allows authors and studios to take the time to do careful work in humanly decent conditions.

2023-10-14 23:26:03 +0000 UTCso the one thing that sucks about season 2 is that after you finish it, you are basically caught up to the manga, and the author takes FOREVER to make new chapters. One ray of hope that i've heard in the rumor mill though is that part of the reason for the big delays over the past 12 months or so is because they are going to rush season 3 into being so the author was actually working with the anime people to do it. not sure if its true or not. it would make me so happy if it was though. one thing indicate its a possibility though is that season 3 of made in abyss is 100% confirmed.

2023-10-13 06:12:49 +0000 UTCI won't spoil anything, but in the manga, it has several short side-scenes during what Season 2 covers with Sherumi. Mostly diving deeper into lore and language. One of the few pieces of cut content that I wished was animated, but it makes sense why they didn’t, since it would be a jarring story to follow on top of the current 2 perspectives between Riko's and Vueko's group. I am hoping that they either cover it with an OVA or at some point in the next season.
