Yeah for the longest time I thought it was when they went back up to a different layer is when they got hit. Eventually learned it’s going up at all a certain distance hits you with whatever curse layer you happen to be on

2023-08-06 03:15:09 +0000 UTCI've noticed a lot of people misunderstand how the curse of the abyss works early on. Descending into the abyss is perfectly fine, it's once you try to ascend, even a little bit, that the effects of whatever layer you're on start to hit you. This is why raiders can go to the 6th layer, where the curse is loss of humanity, but can never come back up, making the bottom of the abyss a one-way trip.

In case you forgot: If you descend to the 6th layer you can never ascend again. Ascension from the 6th layer means loss of humanity and death. Thats why its called the last dive for cave raiders who go deeper than that. Also only ascension is the dangerous part. You can descend as much as you want.

2023-07-28 08:52:00 +0000 UTCIn the discussion part you were wondering about lyza's scale of power, while unknown and this is not a spoiler more like an observation... lyza is the only white whistle with a graphic/violent name (lyza the annihilator) maybe shes extremely fking op who tf knows from what we know shes made it to the bottom of the abyss which im assuming you need to be extremely capable. I wish i could talk to you 2 about this shit because its just so fascinating to me and i dont think the things i wanna say are necessarily spoilers but im not gonna risk it besides its always better to hear it from your own experience and see what you 2 come up with. Thanks for the episode.
