As someone whose watched y'all react to AoT (one of my all time favorite anime) I can only echo the recommendation that came from your friend. I'm a manga reader and US Army veteran who deployed to Afghanistan when I was 20 years old. I spent the better half of a decade after trying to find a way to live with purpose as well as overcome my trauma and this story has actually played a huge part in doing that. Both season 1 and 2 are beautifully tragic but I hope you enjoy. Looking forward to more!
