Do keep in mind regarding the Eren/Armin/Mikasa conversation there would be no point in Eren assessing whether Armin had drank the wine. Armin is the Colossal Titan, he already has the power of the Nine so Zeke's Scream would, at most, give Armin a shock. I also think Eren would know Armin and especially Mikasa would not have drank the wine. None of the characters in the 104th are drinkers except maybe Floch and Jean and we obviously know Floch did not drink the Zeke Wine and we saw that Jean did not as well. I don't think Eren was interested in finding out who had drank the wine. I believe the Jaegerist network had already figured that out completely.

Zeke's plan is the most mercy, ironically Zeke himself has little empathy. I've always loved the contrast between the "white Jesus look" of Zeke and the "dark evil" Eren in this episode.

Yes. Well put. Another reason could be due to the fact that many soldiers were jailed around the same area as his friends. If any of those soldiers happened to have drank the wine then turning into a titan in the vicinity of his friends would probably kill them. But I guess we can consider this in my previous point of eren not wanting his own people to get turned.

Zeke literally says " order Ymir to euthanise every eldian. Crushing on he military with the rumbling can come later" so yeah Zeke himself believes in euthanasia and then a partial rumbling so that no one can attack the last surviving paradisians

Yelena explains when describing the plan to Armin and company that the rumbling will serve as a "deterrent" to anyone who might wish to attack the last Eldians alive in their old age. The fact that she is entertaining a scenario in which there is anyone in existence to potentially threaten the old last Eldians before they die out shows that the plan is not to wipe out the rest of the world with the rumbling after sterilising Eldians. Zeke in this episode says that "crushing the military with the rumbling can come later." Which shows that the plan is just to destroy the military, as the other commenter said. As you say, the version of the plan with a full scale rumbling wouldn't make much sense, which in itself gives us reason to doubt that interpretation even if there wasn't evidence in favour of the small scale rumbling interpretation.

Making Eldians sterile doesn't stop them from coming after the Island. Crushing their military allows Eldians to live our their last days in relative peace as they die out. It's a mercy 'let them live out their days', not a slaughter. That's my take on it, anyway.

Yes, but if there are no more Eldians afterwards then what is the point? Unless you think that The Rumbling is controllable so that only military people are destroyed and not the whole of the rest of the world, which I don’t think has been alluded to at this point in the show.

I don’t think we have ever seen or heard in Zeke’s mind or words about a “partial“ rumbling so I do not agree, but I could be wrong. I think you are projecting from what Armin talks about, not Zeke.

I think in Zeke's mind, the rumbling after the euthanization part of the plan is only a partial rumbling to crush the global alliance military forces, not a full scale rumbling of the whole world.

Zeke plan was to crush the united world military that would come after Paradis Island aftet the declaration of the war, that is one of the bigger reasons they havent touched earlier.

The range doesn't make a difference since all Eldians should be connected through the paths, which is where the change is made by Ymir. They're not just sterilizing Paradis, is supposed to be all Eldians, which would include the Marleyan internment zone, etc.

Eren first said “Because I was born in this world” in season 1 when Armin was trying to get him to get control and move the boulder in Trost, such a good call back.

I don't think it's because they were still hoping for peace. After all, Marley declaring war was part of their plan: Zeke is the one who brings to the Marley military the idea of going back to the Paradis Operation (end of 4x1), and the one with the idea of involving the Tyburs to make a Global Alliance possible. So I agree with Stephen here. Also, I don't think they were worrying about the range they have to be in: the euthanization plan doesn't involve only the Eldians in Paradis but all around the world, no matter were they are. It wouldn't work better in Paradis than in Marley if they thought it was a matter of range. But I think that they also didn't know exactly how activating the Founding Titan would work, so better wait to be in a safer environment than Marley.

This also explains the confusion of Ben and Ana as to why Eren was desperate to find Zeke, despite them having a meeting place. Eren wanted to find Zeke and get to the paths before Zeke felt the need to go through with the whole wine fiasco.

This is the way I interpreted the "wait" from eren. The wine plan was basically an insurance plan which means that it was not required unless the main players were in some sort of problem or the main plan was going astray. When Zeke saw that marley attacked and he and eren are on the backfoot, he turned everyone but eren ofcourse won't want that for his own people. As Ben said, eren would have tried to reach paths without turning anyone into a titan. Since turning them into a titan isn't a necessity in reaching paths. He ofcourse went along when he heard about the wine plan but never thought that it would be required. Also, pixis actually drank the wine. He felt the numbness when Zeke turned everyone in the forest into a titan in ep 14

I agree with you both of you, but everything seems to be be an aspect of the answer to a complex situation. Correct me if I am wrong but Zeke probably did not know in what range they have to be for the euthanization to activate.

No, the reason is much simpler then that. Marley did not announce War yet. Eren was waiting for the last hope for peace to die out before making his final move. At the time of them talking, possibility of peace was still an option, the war on Paradis was not declared by the world yet.

I think it’s because Zeke says during their interaction at the end that he can use the rumbling to crush the military after euthanizing the Eldians, which they wouldn’t have been able to do before the global alliance was formed while they were in Marley. In which case it’s because he didn’t want the world to crush paradis after his plan was finished, or he knew Eren wouldn’t want that

Loved the heartfelt reaction and great discussion! One point I wanted to comment on was when you guys wondered if Colt possibly had feelings similar to Marcel's in the sentiment of wanting to prevent their younger brother from inheriting a titan. In one of the early episodes of the season, when Falco finally beats Gabi in a foot race, Colt says something along the lines of 'still...at this rate Falco will never surpass Gabi' with a nervous expression on his face, implying that he wants Gabi to inherit the Armored Titan and not his brother.

Here's a interesting parallel. Every Jaw titan that we've seen has sacrificed themselves to save the Armour titan, which is very ironic, since the Armour is supposed to be the shield. The Jaw also arguably has the weakest defense. But yea, Marcel saved Reiner and ended up being eaten, similar to how Porco ended up. Ymir also got eaten because she went back to protect both Reiner and Berthold. Basically furthering the torture of Reiner who is already probably drowning in survivor guilt lol
