Attack on Titan 4x18: "Sneak Attack" // Early Reaction and Discussion

I'm so excited, they are about to witness absolute peak over the next 3 episodes

Raden

They're not just protecting themselves. Look at their rethoric: they want to (re)create an Empire. An empire implies expansion of territory and ruling more than Paradis Island. Armin & co want also to defend themselves, Armin is on board with the plan of a partial rumbling to destroy the enemy forces. The Jaegerists want more than that.

pas douée pour les pseudos

I’ve been binging other reactors’ 4x19 videos to satisfy my hype. Fridays gonna be lit

hman70

as many as pepole ask that, i ask you to do episodes as you wish (the wish the binge all episodes aint an option)

amir.cricket

Yelena's reaction is because she sees through Armin's facade, she knows he isn't really into the cause but she'll keep an eye on him because they have no choice. So it's like intimidation.

vera

The Jaegerist are just protecting themselves. Just because they are opposite to your favorite 'main' characters doesnt make them evil.

"Timey-wimey" is indeed from Doctor Who, specifically, the series 3 episode "Blink" which you should totally watch.

alpha charlie bravo

Please release episodes 20+21 together

Next week OMG

I love Reiner as a character. He is struggling to understand why Eren is still fighting so hard, when he is so jaded and traumatised, but he forgets that he inspired Eren to always keep moving forward and not stop until his goal is reached.

Rob Brown

The Next 3 episodes Are going to blow your MIND ‼️

Armani

Great point.

Paris Hardy

Also lmao at your reactions to the Yelena face. I was confused the first time I watched it too, but here's a hint: it has to do with Armin "crying"/his reaction upon hearing Yelena reveal their Euthanization plan.

Russell Gambardella

I would give both of you a gold star and a crown for the post-episode discussion. You both are so sharp can't wait to see when you learn the rest of the unrevealed information!

Russell Gambardella

Ha damn, I definitely didn't notice that scene where the camera goes through the Jaw's wound. Cool detail.

Corey Hughes

Prepare for the best 3 episodes of a TV you've ever seen, back to back. The hype is about to explode your brains.

Adam Adamowicz

Eren lying to Mikasa can be deduced from the previous episodes. Her instincts of fighting kick in when Eren chokes at her to fight, so yeah she does choose to protect Eren, but if you look at episode 1 x 7, her instincts to fight also kick in for self preservation. So yeah Eren lied through his teeth and everyone except maybe Armin bought it.

Quo

put me into a cocoon and timey wimey myself to next week im boutta lose my mind for these next 3 episodes

Antonio

I forgot how good these episodes were because the really amazing ones take all the spotlight away from them, nice to see yelena's horror movie face once again lol

Reaction G.O.A.T

Mike

Porco is to Riener what Jean is to Eren

Isayama is definitly exploring the idea of free will in this show.. When you look at Eren's journey, from the very beginning he has been obsessed with freedom.. The irony is that while he has been tenacious and determined to impose his will on the world around him, in reality, the world has imposed itself on him.. He has never been in control throughout the entire series, he has always just reacted to what was thrown at him.. And now that he is powerful enough to impose his will on the world, we see how the price of his freedom is the loss that same freedom for everybody else.. He cannot impose his will on the world, without denying others the ability to do the same.. A paradox of freedom indeed..

Emil Kappel

I don't think Eren said that Mikasa was a slave to Eren, or even Eren's will, he said that she was a slave to his protection.

Ray Quigs

That is so interesting. I've never thought of it that way. Really makes me appreciate Isayama even more.

Wanna add something on the "memories" discussion, not about de power it self, but how it's wonderfully used by the author and how it's referring to our history (at least as European, that work and I think it work for a Japanese too) At this point, it's an "admitted" thing that Eldians massacred lot of people and nation in the past. And the point of the Eldians of paradise is that they don't know, their people don't even remember hearing that story. It's like Anna said how can you rules if you don't know the mistake of the past. How to live in the world without the context that how other feels around you ? How to don't make the same mistake ? The Jaegerist are all of that, they want to remake an Eldain Empire, they are proud to kill others, they don't care because they don't know. In France we studie alot the Holocaust just for that, to not let this happen again (and I think lot of countries does learn and studies about it too) That parallel, between the memories stolen from the people to the point where the fascism take power (Eren is a kinda... Uh you know, for Jelena and the Jaegerist) is so done right and it's a masterpiece If their is no memories, same mistake will be made again, it's one of the numerous layer that the show want to launch a reflection

Kaze

We NEED the next one! These reactions and discussions are just too good and I know they're about to get even better.

Snow

My head canon is that the cut in the discussion from the Dr. Seuss tangent to Zeke saying big brother was done to cut out the extra half hour discussion on Dr. Seuss and Timey Wimey stuff.

Joshua

It is currently 4 am and I was about to sleep, until AutoSave used Sneak Attack. It was super effective.
