I super enjoyed the subtext between Willy and Magath -- almost EVERY line is! It's such an underestimated episode. To be honest, I hope you can find time to rewatch the previous plots. In recent discussions, there are some theories and answers to questions you have missed. (The notes only record what you remember, not what you missed....)... it's not cheating. It's getting ready for each next episode (if you have the time and want to rewatch it, of course) You might be interested in reviewing the lines between Willy and Magath. Here are a few examples: Conversation on the balcony at night: The state of Helos is killing a titan by attacking the mouth...? Is it proper to praise the spirit of Marley by the word "with not a scratch" and "empty inside"?...etc Conversation in the daytime scene: They talked a lot about architecture, but it's clearly outside their job, right? "A list of required large-scale demolition" "It has decayed beyond repair." "the military is yours."...etc Magath is one of my favorite characters. His rule does not allow him to express his thoughts frankly, but you can feel his real thoughts through his shots. Empathizing with this role makes understanding how those in power, or adults, face this complex world easier.

By the way the reasoning for the curse of Ymir was explained in 3x21 I believe. Eren said something along the lines of “Ymir Fritz died 13 years after obtaining her powers, so it’s only fair we do the same.”

I can talk about this now since the episodes have progressed up to this point. The fact is that Annie actually appears in Season 1, Episode 2. The original unedited version of the episode already shows Annie receiving her bread ration at around the 15 minute, 32-34 second mark. If you didn't already know about this, then why don't you check it out? One of the fascinating aspects of "Attack on Titan" is this kind of foreshadowing that occurs extensively throughout the show. I look forward to hearing reactions and sharp insights from the two of you in the future.

Falco's last name is Grice, which means he's related to Grisha's friend, the same guy that showed him the scar and recruited him to the restorationists' group, and later on Gross threw him first without turning him into a titan from the top of the wall.

The Ackermann's were not the family that were high value in the black market, the reason the human trafficker's wanted Mikasa and her mom was because her mothers side of the family was "oriental". Also 13 years was how long ymir lived for after she got her powers, it was explained back in season 3 when Eren was reliving krugers memories.

Re: Kenny and Annie… remember Kenny is effectively in charge of a secret police organisation that reports to Rod. So I’ve assumed her “limit” is that she’s drawn enough attention and suspicion, that she’s risking being caught. I think her saying that is a concern that if she continues, they’ll be on to her. I think it may also be implying that hitting this “limit” is the reason for joining the interior police. A different strategy to get inside info and avoid arousing too much suspicion. Also, I would think Marley would assume that the King holds the founding Titan. So I think their job was less about searching for that itself, and more about gathering more intel, since from their perspective, they are probably sort of surprised there was no apparent retaliation from the founding Titan itself. I don’t know for certain if that’s exactly what was going on but I think it makes the actions we see them take seem much more straightforward.
