The Final Word live from India

We didn't make a big deal of this beforehand, because we weren't quite sure that it was going to come together, but now it has - The Final Word is at least 50% at the World Cup! Geoff made it to Chennai in time for the third day of the tournament, and will be there throughout to do radio commentary for the ABC-BBC joint broadcast. That also means that on some days we'll get some flavour (mostly in the form of background noise) from the stadiums as we record the Daily shows between India and London.

On other days we'll divide our efforts, with Bharat Sundaresan and Cam Ponsonby leading the guest host roster.

That also partly explains why the Wednesday email is going out on Friday for Week 2 of October on Patreon.

We won't post links to all of the Daily episodes published so far, but if you want to hear how wrong our preview episode already is, here you go. The rest are in your feed on your podcast app,  and we've been having a lot of fun with them already. The video playlist is here

Traitors to the Sheffield Shield

We're going to try to keep the weekly show fairly free of World Cup business for the next few weeks, hence Season 15, Episode 4: In an effort to spend more time talking about the Sheffield Shield this Australian summer, we have Louis Cameron, one of the best in the business, with us to set up the season. Before that, we’re celebrating Hayley Matthews and pondering what the future might hold for Jake Fraser-McGurk.

Story Time 153 – Crashing the night cart

This week, we find that military service is not for everyone, or perhaps some just have a different method of enjoying it. And what's with all the non-Julio Julios? Let's look at one of the great days out, search for anything to match one specific criteria, look at openers who enjoyed doing not much, and head back to the Fake Olympics via the scorecard that might have the best group of names ever put to paper. Big calls? Were not afraid to make them.
