Dark Souls Part 18!

I think I did this DLC?? Let me know?! That was the coolest fight. What a spectacle hahaha. Hard af area though, woof everyone, woof...

I have seen an increasing number of comments from people lamenting how long this is taking me to get through, I am sorry! I really hoped people would be cool with me covering the game, respect the effort etc, didn't want to skip it in the line-up! But it does make me sad to see comments telling me my channel is dead now lmao, I certainly hope not! I need a holiday from tough games, expect all sunshine and cosy stuff for a bit after this and thank you so much everyone here for sticking with me while I worked through it!

Dark Souls Part 18!

Comments

I just want to say I really enjoy your videos, regardless of whatever negativity you might see from others. Some people just really enjoy bringing others down. You mentioned feeling your damage is kind of weak and being unsure what to do about it: One of the big advantages of going so deep into both INT and Faith is how diverse you can make your damage output. I'd recommend putting a magic damage spell back on your list and maybe even a lightning spell (I think you've picked up one or two) so you can experiment with what enemies are weak to. Your hexes will be the strongest on average but some enemies (like the enemies in the boss arena in this DLC) are resistant to dark damage so a backup is useful! Also consider getting a weapon that scales with INT and FTH so you have a backup when your spells run out, or for finishing off enemies that you've softened up. You can buy the Chaos Rapier from Felkin (the hexer guy) for a fire damage weapon, and you could infuse a few basic weapons like shortswords or rapiers with magic, lightning and dark damage now and choose whichever weapon the enemies of the area seem weak to.

Try out some of the healing faiths! It looks super nice, and heals a LOT of HP for you and your allies. if not try Great heal, that heals a small ranger

I'd say that the comments are more of a reflection on the game itself rather than your gameplay. Everyone knows how much better DS3 is so they are getting a bit ahead of themselves. (A large portion of the fanbase don't even consider DS2 to be canon). I'd say you should still play at your pace because you only get to experience this series for the first time once. For what it is worth, I am having fun watching.

Nicol

i for one don’t really care how long it takes, most of us here seem to appreciate your attention to detail and less rushed play style. i’m in no hurry, i’d watch a speed runner or something if i just wanted a fast playthough. keep doing your thing, you’re doing great

ZephtheMagicEnby

I usually do not comment, however I would like to say that your videos are really fun and it seems to me that you really enjoy making them. They have given me the confidence to take on the Dark Souls franchise myself, and your Dark Souls II series has been really fun to watch, and I am looking forward to the next video.

St Hans

Your content is amazing Amber! I love how you play. Keep it up!!

JustlookingCQ

I have been loving every minute of your playthrough. It’s a long game that can be drawn out, but I do think it’s totally worth it. Ignore the people complaining and haters, you are amazing and should play what you want how you want. By far you are my favorite YouTuber to watch and I eagerly await each and every video

Patrick Johnson

Oh man, some people are really intent on venting their displeasure smh … I’m glad you’re playing DS2 and that you’re showing us all there is to show, because I probably wouldn’t have experienced any of it on my own.

Huib Gelling

DS2 is a long game anyway, it can drag on more than the other two installments in the series. You put out wonderful content, and you're committed to keep improving it. That's both a result and an ethos that will keep your channel thriving.

Royce Sparks

And happy customer don’t always comment: seems a bit silly just saying : “good stuff” but we’re here… we’re here :D

Enguerrand Leclerc

The people making those kind of comments don't sound like the kind of people who would stick around anyway. You'll move onto a different game at some point and they'll go and be miserable on someone else's channel instead. As long as you stick to doing what you want in the way you want to do it you'll be golden. I don't have a huge amount of time to watch everything atm, but it's always a good time when I do catch a video or stream!

mattbrush3pwood

I love the effort you put into all your games, you aren't taking too long at all. Your channel is absolutely not dead, I live for it! Also, your hair looks so nice today!

Allen Williamson

I've been playing loads of short, cosy, and short & cosy games lately and it is definitely something I can vouch for! Dark Souls II has been fun to watch as well.

Trolez

Dead? Awwwyeah, gotta love when people are impatient and entitled on the internet. I wonder...when did the complainers last produce something worth commenting on, instead of just consuming free content and bitching about it? If you'd rushed straight through it, they'd gripe about all the things you missed (they've probably already done that anyway). I've not played DS2, so this series has been an educational adventure for me, and the co-ops have been a good time! Pretty dope bosses too. Thank you for playing it and putting these videos out there! So does this mean you'll be playing Little Kitty Big City next? (I'd watch) I just started playing the very hyped Animal Well. I wouldn't say it's a relaxing game, and there's no sunshine so far...but it's a clever puzzle/exploration game with a cool atmosphere, fun items to play with, and tucked away secrets. It's really well made and very impressive that it was created by one person! It's been a good Switch-whilst-in-bed game, and I'm liking it a lot.

Grant Gringle

This video is amazing. This series is amazing. I’m so grateful for all the care you put into your content. It really shows with how much effort you put into editing and general content. You really are awesome! I’m sorry that you have people being jerks in comments. I hope you know that most of your community really appreciate you!

Mackthecatdad

Joining the rest saying you have nothing to apologise for, your videos are amazing and a great source of entertainment! I am definitely biased since I love DS2, but as I've said many times before I have been loving this playthrough and seeing your reactions to various things, the ways it is different to DS1, thoughts on what you think works and doesn't work with the mechanical experimentation etc. DS2 is definitely a very long game, but you've definitely worked through it quite quickly considering how meticulously you've explored, and I have a sneaking suspicion that those commenters are just mad that you're playing games they personally dislike. IMO it is very important to remember that most people who watch videos and like them don't leave comments and instead happily move on with their day, so those who dislike it and go on complaining are overrepresented.

Use the coffin! Bring Emma with you just in case ;) Love the DS2 videos!

Jwhiteshirt

Now that I'm able to watch, I think you might be the only person to not refer to the spikey frozen rodents as "Sanic" / Sonic the Hedgehog, Amber.

l.h. riley

“Now dead”?? You’ve been putting out so much top-tier content recently and you have nothing to apologize for. Haters will be haters, hopefully they don’t come at you too hard, but if they do, they’re wrong as usual.

IAmSpartacus

What? WHAT!? Taking too long? What are they in such a hurry for? It’s not like you’re posting 10 videos of just trying to beat one boss, you’re always making progress and finding and doing new things! Honestly, I think that kind of comment comes from someone that doesn’t fully appreciate the exploration aspect of FromSoft games.

Copper Cricket

Just keep being you and enjoying games. It is a bonus that we get to enjoy them vicariously through you. Anyone who complains doesn't deserve your attention.

l.h. riley

Ignore all the hate! I look forward to each and every video, as my mother. They are helping her and me deal with my dad’s cancer.

Daniel

Think of it this way, they (a minority) expect from you more than you are able to give them - that’s fine, they can go find other people to watch. However by commenting those feelings they are boosting your channel by engaging with your content, thereby introducing new, better viewers to your content.

Chris DePrisco

Ignore the hate. Your channel is wonderful. Especially since I don't really want to play the dark souls games it's so fun watching you and getting the lore and all the fun aspects.

Lot_TheKing

Hey dude!! Yes you absolutely did do the DLC, awesome isn't it? Well done you! A well deserved time off the tough games is a great idea I think, but I will say you will LOVE DS3 a lot more than this. In the meantime let me recommend SOMA? Not a difficult game at all but the story is right up your street I think :) also ignore the comments, there's 8 billion people in the world, youll never please every single one. You have a hardcore community who love what you put out, keep smashing it ✌️

Joe Leary

The fight with the Burnt Ivory King was one of my most anticipated encounters to watch since you started this playthrough! Also those comments you mentioned are full of bollocks. This is a long game and I'm sure most of us would rather you take your time and enjoy Dark Souls 2 at your own pace. Looking forward to when you beat the game.

McCreedyAlastor193

you have nothing to apologise for, you're making it through at your own pace and i for one am just happy for more dark souls content haha looking forward to some comfy cosy games tho! i feel like you've been going through the gauntlet recently. ik it's easier said than done, but try not to let the comments get to you, we know you're giving it your all despite it being a rocky patch, that's all that matters!
