Reminds me strongly of the gumman x29, but with ***SCIENGE FICTION!*** (insert wavy hands here). It's honestly an interesting design and really nicely delivered. Thanks for sharing it's very appreciated. The X-29 was discarded not because it was unfeasible (it worked with the tech available 40 years ago.... so it was very feasible) but because it required a too high level of skill to be maneuvered properly, if you had that kind of skill you basically could do rounds against any other kind of fighter jet due to the extreme maneuverability. Unfortunately it's not the kind of stuff that the army seeks. The army seeks something that can be flown by the baseline, because training people costs a lot and the plane itself cost several times a normal airplane, so getting a good edge was not worth the investment and cheaper and "more baseline" solutions were preferred. So yeah, seeing a design like that reminds me of good old '60s wish-fulfilment science fiction where a man was a man "only if" he could do the exceptional with ease. Where people would be experts in every conceivable field and do jobs no other men could. The kind of science fiction that was basically popularized by pulp novels. And honestly... yeah. Sometimes i need a bit of wish-fulfilment because real life constraints really drag you very low. So thanks for sharing and for reminding me of something that made me smile.
